I like Russell as a fighter. The Man's Extremely skilled and experienced. The biggest issue is the well known fact that he's INACTIVE, very inactive. I can't rock with a fighter who fights once yearly, if that. Back in the day when I was coming up in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, 4 thimes was about average, perhaps 3 depending on the difficulty. Fighter's were sharp and didn't have to spar as much. Sparring contributes to neurological issues too and too much is not good, especially hard ferocious Sparring.
He has been progressing Frank Martin has very nicely in his career. He’s always in puncheon position.
One thing I will say is Gary didn’t help himself by only fighting once a year for so many years. Other than that, I agree with his perspective on the Tank situation.
