That’s so true how that happens: I watched the Cybertruck reveal, thought it was awful and must be a joke, then I was so amped about it within a few days, that I put a reservation in! 😅
Funnily enough, I thought the same thing about your color of green. At first I was like: “that’s the last color I would ever do” and now I think it’s pretty dope!
I had the same feeling, first impressions are so important because it's the image that burns into your mind but as you learn more about it's capabilities, it grows on you. I still think it could look better especially at certain angles but once you understand more you kind of overlook the looks. Sort of like meeting someone and then finding out what's beneath the surface.
I suspect Musk has a knack for understanding how we react to things. I was shocked when I saw the CT on stage at the unveil... but 2 days later I was like, hey, it actually looks neat! Now I'm seeing videos of it and I'm mind-blown!
All these CT videos got me thinking of the Tetris effect, how after you play Tetris for a while you see things like buildings and how they could fit together, now that I've seen the CT in many settings, I'm more than used to it, I'm surprised I like it, *if it was SMALLER I'd like it even more* we can all get by with fewer polygons in our life!
I’ve been saying that eventually EVERYONE will LOVE the Cybertruck look. Not everybody will want one exactly but they will all understand it and have genuine respect for and love of the Cybertruck and all it embodies. Not personally sold on the green but I admire the heck out of you all for going for something a little uncommon. So jealous too. Bet you’ve heard that a thousand times already lol Best wishes for you guys and your channel.
This is how it will happen. The impact in the truck space is going to be far greater than the Car space. You are off to a great start. Also, that green looks stunning.
Thumbs up for your neighbour. And I keep hearing people say the same thing about the Cybertruck. Don't enjoy it at first, but the design grows on people.
You guys should take the Cybertruck to a Friday night drag strip. It would be awesome to see the 1/4 mile time and see everyone’s reaction at the track.
Had a similar chain of reactions. On the cybertruck reveal I was like “Who is Elon trolling? This is absurd”. And after a few weeks of bashing it and calling it names I somehow ended up having it as my pc wallpaper and wished I had the money to afford that thing. Hopefully Tesla will eventually be able to make that truck go 500mi on one charge as originally planned.
Cybertruck aside. It's refreshing to see a family doing stuff together. New born , young child, wife and husband in all the videos just walking around and laughing with others and stuff. I know it's not anything special but social media is usually pure chaos. You don't really see happy families just acting normal. The internet is full of Men acting like women are objects, women acting like men are investments, Men not wanting children and marriage and women purposely taking children away for income. So yeah, I like looking at your Cybertruck but I also enjoy how the videos just are a family riding around together and chatting and stuff.
Thank you! I LOVE this comment! I think we are more normal than people might think, but social media makes you think that no one is like this anymore...
Your neighbor's reaction to the CT is so true. Cybertruck is a pinnacle of first-principle engineering and design. Imagine unleashing top-tier engineers and designers unfamiliar with trucks, tasking them to craft an ultra-durable, highly functional, and high-performance e-truck with cutting-edge 48v architecture.
@@Johnny24rs ask people that bought F150s and Toyota tundra and.... Every other truck in existence? There are tons of those & you can't be saying that just about cybertruck buddy
On reveal night, l have to admit l _CHEATED_ Tesla gave out a 'snippet' of the CT before November 2019 so l was able to extrapolate the final design. I was an Architect between '79 and '84 so it gave me an unfair advantage. I fell in love with the _LOOK_ in the first moment. Can't wait for my Australian delivery ~75K reservation.
I think the reason why the design seems ugly at first but grows on you over time is that the Cybertruck, unlike other vehicles, was designed with functionality being behind 100% of the design. It follows the purist philosophy of design needing to follow function and not the other way around. And the function of a truck is to be rigid and strong. So the angular design does indeed serve a major purpose. If it didn’t, then it would just be an ugly truck. And the functional element of the design becomes more and more understood and appreciated over time and not at first glance.
So what purpose does the angular design serves, to put the groceries in? This car is form over function otherwise it would've been designed like a regular truck
@@Johnny24rs A regular truck is a brick while moving, the shapes comes from the material begin to strong to be bent more, it's not sheet metal like other trucks it's steel. Being a EV it also needs to be aerodynamic, so the shape is simply putting those two things together. Making it the toughest truck made in the USA.
@@AntoN-hq9tu Because it's not made of steel, so the can bent the metal into curves that push airflow. The difference is 0.04, so not really bad given the Rivian is smaller than a Cybertruck and has a samller front profile. Should also say it only have the side profile of a regular "truck", the front is different because of the airflow, it's "similar" but not really what we would call the classic truck. Angles doesn't give you better airflow, curves do. But the steel they make the CT out of is to hard to be able to make curves in, so they bent it as far as you can to give it the best airflow and that is the shape that is most efficient. And given how close they came it's really impressive, when it's both tough and aerodynamic, as you don't get both most of the time.
@-JustHuman besides the piggy snout headlights Rivian looks pretty much like a regular truck. I find it hard to believe that the smartest person in any room ever couldn't figure out a way to put minor curvature into the stainless steel body panels. But it looks the way it looks, which is objectively ugly, which isn't unusual for a concept car. The real kicker here is that they mass produced a concept car, will see how it goes.
I love it when people make snide remarks about the Cybertruck, I believe it is their coping mechanism for trying to hide their feelings for realising they were wrong.
I loved it from day one years ago, but then i'm a big scifi fan and i like many things outside of mainstream stuff. Its fantastic they were able to make this a reality in my lifetime, and it can only get better as the tech evolves.
Next, you have to learn.... "Have you got 5 minutes?.... jump in" . Quick blast up the road.... then "Do you want to drive it back?" . Result? you've transformed a Sceptic" to a "Convert" to an "Evangelist"
Lots of people like the look of angled stainless, that’s why stainless kitchen appliances exist. They’re just not used to seeing a vehicle that way. I expect most people will dislike it at first, then get used to it.
I went to see it at a showroom in Troy MI. A guy who works for Stillantis was checking out the competition - he was in automotive design. He said no one would buy it because it was designed wrong. The angle of the roof is naturally unattractive. I told him - there are a least 2 million people who don’t care about the roof angle. 😊

Great video, thanks. Two suggestions: 1. At the end of your videos, you need some kind of ending so people have time to click the like button. Maybe just a picture of the Cybertruck with "More to come!" written on it! 2. It appeared your neighbor was hoping for a little more to see, like popping the Frunk or opening the Tanue Cover.
