As my wrestling coach said “There’s never been a horse that couldn’t be rode and a rider that couldn’t be thrown”. It’s never over till it’s over.
I appreciate the time you took to make this video and be knowledgeable enough to know what your talking about. I think the video could be made more entertaining with clips of them wrestling so I can put faces to names.
Another fantastic video! Thank you CP!
Starocci could show up at NCAAs weighing 174, and he would be the favorite at 184. That is how great Carter is. Foca knew he better bump up to 184. No shot against Starocci.
Was just thinking Starocci would beat everyone at 184 .
If I were Hidlay I'd drop to 184 to avoid Brooks. He can't beat him. Nobody can.
Brooks .. Hodge!
10. 125 - Noto
9. 133 - Crookham
8. 149 - Lovett
7. 184- Truax
6. 165 - O’Toole
5. 141.- Woods
4.- HWT. Kerk
3.- 165 - Haines
2.- Starocci
1.- AB
Oh snap! Nice!
Penn State fan I see
You think Haynes is gonna win 165 OK
If Ferrari comes back he wins NCAAs
@@throwbackgrandpa9251 lol i think he meant 157 haha

165- Messenbrink over Otoole
174- Starocci over Griffith
184- keckeisen over Truax
197- Brooks over Stephen Buchanan
285- Kerk over Bastida
Steveo Poulin at 125 surprises them all!
I can see that was just talking about it over the weekend
I wrestled with him in elementary school, got it handed to me every time😭
Ty for your'e awesome videos, your'e knowledge on wrestling is outstanding
125: Ramos

174: Starocci
184: Kekieson
197: Brooks
HWT: Kervliet

1. Ramos
2. Fix
2. Mendez
4. Henson
5. Haines
6. Carr
7. Starocci
8. Keckeisen
9. Hidlay
10. Kerkvliet
Thank you! Nice predictions.
Great call on Caleb Henson!
After last nights dual, I underrated Mesenbrink at 165….theres not 4 or 5 kids better at 165 than him, Levi looks hurt, Beau Bartlett needs to figure out that he is Beau Bartlett, and watch out for Braeden Davis at 125.
All solid points but I have been on the Messenbrink train from the start. Beau is so athletic & lightning fast. He's gonna have a lifetime of regret if he doesn't use it when he wrestles Woods. He can beat Woods...he just has to SHOOT! Braeden The Baby Face Assassin Davis put 125 on notice with how easily he manhandled a VERY good DeAugustino.
Mesenbrink just TF #10 Matthew Olguin from Oregon State in the second period. He will be up there with the top wrestlers come NCAA championship time.
Without a doubt... He's a machine
A TF for Mitch against quality wrestler. Can we call it a Brinks truck? Very tough weight class though.
What Carter did to Whitt was crazy, just made him submit. Whittlake is a beast. What does that make Carter?
Messinbrink is a freaking Hammer!
Messenbrink also just became the 1st guy ever to bonus point Amin. Amin was shell-shocked. His usual boring defensive wrestling was picked apart by Mitch. Had him 1 stall call from being DQ'd. I personally have never witnessed that. Angel Rivera was making those boring guys like Amin & Lewan wrestle...Lewan didn't take the hint & lost on a stall call. I'll be glad when he's gone. Such a boring wrestler. He has a relative (Taylor Lewan) who's a lineman in the NFL. Will acts like an O lineman with all the handfighting
Confidence in order from most to least.
1. 174 lbs Starocci
2. 165 lbs O’Toole
3. 141 lbs Woods
4. 197 lbs Brooks
5 285 lbs Kerkvliet
6 133 lbs Arujau
7 149 lbs Lovett
8 157 lbs Shapiro
9 184 lbs Foca
10 125 lbs Flynn
** Starocci next topic
**O’Toole looks like the second most dominant wrestler regardless of weight right now.
**Woods top game and NCAA finals experience separates him from rest.
** Brooks is not higher cause Hidlay is scary.
**I realize Wyatt was hurt at all star but Penn st room makes the difference in this match
**I am fully confident in Vito beating Crookham and Fix. What I am not confident on is that we even see him in a Cornell singlet again: Just a hunch.
149- Feel is a weak weight. If not Lovett only Gomez I feel can win.
**Shapiro beat #6 Andonian 16-4 and #10 Gallagher 15-0. As soon as he gets his gas tank in check, he is more talented then the field.
**Foca is back, saw that tonight. He is getting more comfortable with the weight. In an interview he said he was under weight at CKLV and in Nashville.
**I think Flynn is long and big for the weight and dangerous enough to string 5 wins together come March.
what happened to vito?
Good take. I think 157 is up for grabs.. Shapiro is a hammer! Can't wait to see! Messinbrink is also a hammer.. but I think O'Toole is the top dog.. could see him as a 4 timer
Don’t sleep on Vinny Zerban he’s going to dog walk Sharpio at NCAAs
My picks at this moment
125 iowa drake
133 crooked
141 woods
149 Henson

7. 157 - Haines
8. 141 - Woods
9. 149 - Gomez
10. 125 - Figueroa
fix ducking Crookham and arujau
Who in their right mind would pick Haines if he had placed 2nd last year? He's looked horrible in limited action, whereas Robb has looked great. Zerban has also looked great. This weight is loaded. Expect Shapiro to climb up by end of year. Keck looks like a good bet, because there just aren't as many obstacles in his path at the weight.
Should have waited until the Jan 5 matches were complete. Definitely some eye openers that would change your picks.
125 - matt ramos (5)
133 - vito arujua (3)
141 - jesse mendez (4)
149 - caleb henson (2)
157 - peyton robb (1)
165 - keegan o'toole (8)
174 - carter starocci (10) and hodge winner
184 - parker keckeisen (6)
197 - aaron brooks (7)
hvy - greg kerkvleit (9)
Keegan over Brooks seems a little crazy imo. And Ramos seems a little high 125 is crazy lol, but good ranking
@@dinocollins720 thanks. i didn't want to put ramos that high, but all the ones below that were upset picks except maybe vito.
I do think if Mendez is on his a game he wins the title.
125: Gary Steen
133: Aaron Nagao
141: Beau Bartlett
149: Tyler Kasak
157: Levi Haines
165: Mitchell Mesenbrink
174: Carter starocci
184: Bernie Truax
197: Aaron brooks
Heavy Weight: Greg kerkvleit
Enjoy this channel !!!!
I see both Shane Griffith and Trey Munoz losing in the finals of their respective weight classes
I like your channel, but not everyone’s familiar with the guys your mentioning. Next time can you have a screen shot of who your talking about? It would definitely get your audience more into the sport. Thank you!
I bet mine is more accurate, the whole penn state lineup
My picks - 125 - Caleb Smith; 133 - Arujau; 141 - Woods; 149- Lovett; 157 - Haines; 165- Keegan; 174 - Starocci; 184 - Keckeisen; 197- Brooks; HWT - Kerk
Don't put your money on any iowa wrestlers
Meyer Shapiro gets his gas tank up, he is there. 15-0 tonight what a beat down.
lookout for Mesenbrink at 165 to be a dark horse
He'll be so much fun to watch for a few years!
My picks
125- Richie Figs
133- Ryan Crookham
141- woods
149- Hensen
157 - Haines
165- otoole
174- Starocci
184 - Traux
197- Hidlay
285 - kerk
Hidlay?
Brooks is not losing
@@ericday2427 I like to pick at least one upset and I think Hidlay has a crazy underhook series that I don't think brooks will be ready for
125: Ramos
133: Arujau
141: Woods
149: Henson
157: Franek
165: O’toole
174: Lewis
184: Keckeisen
197: Brooks
285: Hendrickson
Are you out of your mind. Taking Lewis over starrocci and Henderson over kerkvielet is crazy
Last year I said Alirez before the season started
Zerban wins 157
125 is Poulin
Ty Watters > West Virginia 149 lbs . > A true freshman is a dangerous opponent.
High wrestling IQ
Keep your eye on him. ! Big 12 champion !
Marcus Blaze should be number 1 at 125 lol
Seems pretty accurate.. I'd say Crookham maybe at 133, otherwise sounds good
Time stamp says Keegan Oneill 🤣
My prediction is
125 Matt Ramos
133 Vito Arujau
141 Beau Bartlett
149 Ridge Lovet
157 Levi Haines
165 Mitchell Mesenbrink
174 Carter Starocci
184 Bernie Truax
197 Aaron Brooks
285 Greg Kerkvilet
I'm going with Mesenbrink...
Starocci vs Lewis you seem to forget Lewis was injured.
Do I think he is better? Not for a second, but a healthy Lewis will put up a better fight.
I will also be rooting for Starocci.
Ran into him in Spain follow him being upset the day before and the guy was a class act, along with Cunningham.
So is Gable def not back then?
How much of a wild card is Griffiths? He seems to be inconsistent but when he is on, he can beat anyone. He would have to have a pretty spectacular day to beat Starocci but you never know.
Ramos
Vito
Woods
Gomez
Haines
Keegan
Starocci
Parker
Brooks
Bastida/Gable
I'm looking forward to when you start to put Gabe Arnold into this discussion.
Gabe Arnold has had some really close matches. He made some comments about Starocci last year and I think Starocci techs him, if not pins him. Gabe Arnold is not even ranked in the top ten as far as I am aware, so he is not deserving of mention, YET. (I have been following Gabe Arnold in his high school and collegiate career.) We will see. Carter Starocci is from Pennsylvania, Erie Catherdral Prep, and his record speaks for itself. The wrestling room he is in is "world class" and it seems that the NCAA finals is when Penn State "peaks". Another thing, I have noticed about Penn State, they win most of those "close", "nail-biters" as it seems they are "clock savvy" and all the team titles speak "loudly" of that Penn State wrestling success, whereas, I would ask: "When was the last title won by Iowa and how long before that? (I do know the answer.) And, I recall all those Pennsylvania natives that wrestled for Iowa during the Spencer Lee years (5 or 6 varsity guys) and only Spencer Lee could win a title and some of those guys were 6th year seniors. That says something about the program in my opinion and I thought some of those guys looked "gassed" in the 3rd period for some of their matches. A healthy Spencer Lee would have dominated in his 4th NCAA appearance. You could see he had issues on his feet and it reminded me of his final career loss in high school and he was undefeated and lost to Austin DeSanto who he dominated the year before and he wrestled injured in that loss. Can you imagine Brooks and Starocci practicing day-in-and-day out and all those other world class athletes in that room? Can you imagine Sanderson rolling around with those guys? I will say this: Mekhi Lewis as a Freshman beat a 2x returning NCAA champion from Penn State named: Vincenzo Joseph, also a native from Pennsylvania, so it can happen. Pennsylvania for some reason has the most NCAA champions come out of that state than any other. I can see Gabe Arnold placing as high as 4th at the NCAA. He is just not "hardened" like those other guys on the big stage. And, I believe both Starocci and Brooks are both eligible for next year, so they could in theory be the first "back-to-back" 5x NCAA wrestling champions so there is a lot of motivation to win that 4th title and 5th. How cool would that be? I will try and keep track of this and remark later after the NCAA tournament. I also have my "picks" and for some reason, I have an uncanny ability to pick the finalists and winners as I use to wrestle and I follow it closely. Looking forward to February 9th but I would not be a bit surprised if Arnold and Starocci do not wrestle at that dual meeting.
Carter at very minimum will major Arnold when they wrestle, they're not even close to being in the same tier.
@@jp12143 I followed Carter Starocci from Erie Cathedral Prep, Erie, PA since he was in high school as Erie Prep is in District 10 and our school Warren Area High School wrestles them every year and do not win very often against Prep. I wrestled around the time of Kevin Darkus, another Erie Prep wrestler and an Iowa State wrestler and NCAA champ when he was a senior, but Barry Davis was not present due to the Olympics and Darkus was also a World Silver medalist. But, Barry Davis of Iowa had his number. Those Erie Prep wrestlers are always in great physical shape. Another good wrestler that took 3rd at nationals when Darkus was a senior and Darkus won his national title was Bobby Weaver who won an Olympic gold medal from Easton, PA which also has a great wrestling program. Heavyweight boxer Larry Holmes is from Easton, PA. Barry Davis did lose to a Pennsylvania wrestler at the Dapper Dan in 1980 named Jay Patterson. Kevin Darkus wrestled in that same tournament and won against Don Haddad. The Dapper Dan was known as the "Rose Bowl" of high school wrestling. I think Starocci dominates Gabe Arnold. Looking forward to February when Iowa and Penn State wrestle.
Glad O’ Toole is finally getting some respect
What lol?!?! I've honesty never heard anyone disrespecting him haha
Huh? The guy has been a favorite or just behind Carr (2 yrs ago) for like 3 years! What are you talking about!
That's funny... I thought he was slightly disrespected here. I would have had him at 4 or 5.
I still believe O'Toole will be a 4 timer.. hammer time!
Kyle Parco needs some credit… there’s not a guy he can’t be right there w
tier 2
He cant beat lovett or Henson
Penn State is going to have 4 or 5 champs again, even without Van Ness. Would be shocked if Brooks and Starocci don't win. then Levi Haines, Mitchell Mesenbrink, greg kerkvleit & Beau Bartlett will all make a run. Also not sleeping on Nagao.
Wish y’all had some highlights of the wrestlers being said lol. I clicked away after staring at this MUG for 4+ minutes.
Surtin
Lovett
Mendez
Arujau
Haines
Keckeison
Kerkvleidt
O’Toole
Brooks
Starocci
Who’s your NCAA champs????
Vito beat himself against Crookem
Haha, beat himself huh… 🤣

ridge owns him
PSU will have 7 finalists
If Mitchell mesenbrink cut down to 157 he would beat Haines for the starting spot and win ncaa
**** Pyles is just that a pain in the ass.
Keegan would beat Starrouci if they wrestled.
Carr takes 165 this year.
So you like Matt Ramos because he has been wrestling? 😂 He beat someone in the off season. 😂 He got lucky last year. 😂 Give me Caleb Smith. He is a tough out. Lots of experience. Look for guys to cut weight into 125 class.
This didn’t age well with tonight’s results.
Flo-wrestling, all Iowa biased.
Braeden Davis will beat them all by years end
Matt ramos??? He lost to a highschooler?
Ok? You know that other high schoolers recently have beaten ncaa champs

Sorry super boring. Maybe something visual, other than you.
Real Woods is Overrated. Like always he Will Choke.😊
If AJ wrestles I think he upsets brooks 5-3
he went into overtime with with a guy ranked like 20th lol. If he goes to Iowa we aren't even sure he can make the starting lineup yet haha. You think he can beat Brooks?!?! Thats crazy! Brooks honestly is the second best guy in the world behind DT!
a guy from Iowa named Tanner is taking 197
AJ will not get past Hidlay (if he makes it that far) to get to Brooks in the finals. I am really hoping to see AJ get with Iowa and have Brooks major him in the dual meet. We'll get to see the immaturity come out of AJ again and it will not be the last time we see it either.
He might be upsetting a Brooks 5-3 but I can guarantee you his first name isn't Aaron, keep dreaming.
@@jp12143 haha right!!!
