Building a Tipi / Wickiup Bushcraft Shelter - Full Build

- In this video, we will build a permanent bushcraft basecamp starting with the shelter. The shelter is a mix between a Teepee, a Wickiup and a Swedish Kåta with my own touch on it. It is located in Western Värmland in Sweden on a friend's land in the middle of the woods.
We have loads of plans for this bushcraft basecamp in the future. The shelter will get a door and raised beds, we will build an outdoor kitchen for Robin's cooking, we might plant some edibles outside of the shelter and much more.
This place will be our second home from where we will start many trips in the future. My plan is also to bring some of my subscribers to this place on our first day in the woods to do some planning and teach them the basics of survival before heading out further into the bush.

Thank you my friend. Yes I believe it would. My latest shelter like this stod for over a year before i tore it down. This one however, I'll tare down before the winter to build another shelter with the same materials. It's hard to film us in this shelter because I just have one angle, I want a more open shelter for better videos. 😊👍

I’m trying to learn to build something like this could you do a step by step tutorial explaining how to tie the lashings and knots and what lengths to look for etc

This is really cool! I'm thinking of building one in my backyard. Did it last the winter? I think mine will have a tarp to protect the wood and to shield from the wind so that you can close the "door". It looks very welcoming.
Sounds like a good idea. It would have last the winter but I needed the materials for my next build so I tore it down after a couple of months. A tarp would be a good add on to make it last longer 😁👍
Also what knot did you use to tie the horizontal framework to the tripod legs?

The thing is this shelter only works If you have straight trees in your area, which I don’t

Sometimes yes, you can find many animal tracks around the camp
How do you keep rain from coming in at the peak?
