Saw this tour at The Ritz, NYC. Half the audience left because they wanted "I'm The Man", etc.. Joe told 'em he wasn't going near the older stuff and they walked.. It was clearly billed as a Jumpin' Jive show. Had the club nearly to ourselves, and it was INCREDIBLE!

The whole album is covers. So? He did them with the same level of excellence as any other album. And in the process confirmed his ability to put his seal on anything he touches.

Joe again. I saw this show - front center in Albuquerque in 81 or 82. It was one of the top ten shows i've ever seen.
So wish I can time travel back to see this live, I was 8 yrs old at the time!
