Medusa Makeup and Hair Transformation

  • My Medusa Tranformation! I actually came up with this idea of braiding my hair into snakes and attaching snake heads to the end of each braid last year but never got around to doing it. I knew how much work it was going to be. Well, at least I thought I knew. Don't get me wrong- this look was so much fun for me to do! It just took quite some time haha! I probably listened to four different albums while creating this look hence the dancing and posing/voguing. I really had fun with this video!
To be able to get my hair to stand up, I created 2 crown like head band with several meshed wires all around which I would intertwine with each braid. Most of the products I purchased for these two wired headbands were relatively cheap! I bought a pack of plastic headbands and black tube mesh from the Dollar Tree. I bought wire from a craft store, and snakes from amazon (I just chopped off their heads). These headbands were perfect because they had hollowed circles all around the headband so that I was able to secure the meshed wire onto the headbands.
The easiest and most enjoyable part of this look was coloring my hair! L'Oreal Hair sent me their amazing colorista 1-day color sprays in green and gold and they fully completed this Medusa look! The spray showed even through my darker hair and washed off in just one shampoo!
This was the first time I filmed myself doing my makeup. Obviously, this isn't an everyday makeup look for me, so I was really happy with the results!
I hope you guys enjoy watching this transformation as much as I enjoyed creating it! I would love to read your comments below about what you think!

Great work and very creative using your own hair. What did you braid your hair around and how did you attach it to the head band?

This is honestly the type of Medusa crown I'm looking for because those cheap gold ones just don't do it for me.
