- Not really a scientific test but I have to give thumps up to the 550xp. Both saws was bought new in March 2019, both saws in this video have brand new saw chains on them at the time of this cutting in fall, no filing was done yet on brand new chains.........

I want the 550XP but the Echo seems like a great deal- $200 cheaper, adjustable carb, and 5 year consumer warranty.
I just bought the 501p last week and it out preforms my Stihl 271 farm boss.
@@brucemalcolm3893 Thank you. Which saw seems lighter? I would imagine the echo will get stronger after it's fully broken in.
@@mmholling87 The Echo takes a long time to break in and will get a lot stronger as it does
@@mmholling87 The echo is a little lighter if I'm not mistaken. It's 10.4 #s.
You can't go wrong with Echo. I am a Husqvarna and Sthil fan. I own the Echo CS - 400 for 4 yrs and it's been very reliable.
We just bought the echo 3510 and it’s awesome. Light and powerful.
I’ll take the echo any day imo
Echo is good for a prize but i would prefer husqvarna which is more agressive, less vibration and gas. Echo is also good designed and its pretty light. But i like to work with agressive chain saw.
I just got done bucking up my firewood this year with the 550xp, the extra power is noticeable for sure..........
Let that Echo break-in first and watch it smoke that 550
I thought the echo looked better, didn't seem to bog down as much.
Echos have way more torque than Husqy and Stihl, it's those low ports!
Now if Echo would just come out with flip fuel and oil caps it would be a great saw....
Quite echos many has caps that can be opened by using the starter handle as opening tool
I definitely prefer the non flip caps!
@@scottbraun8950 Same. I amd selling my Stihl saw's and brushcutter and moving to Echo. Quality is just better.
@@ebusdk I still have a Stihl chainsaw, brushcutter , and pole saw.. good equipment. I've had the saw and brushcutter going on 15ish years now, still going strong.
@@scottbraun8950 My Stihl FS360 is about 15 years as well, and works well, but the new saw annoys me
Hi,
what about the sidestick? How is it connected to chainsaw and how is it made? Thx.

The guy with the Husky started cutting 3 seconds before the Echo guy even started!
It's really hard to do a real test between two saws unless theres a way to take the human factor out, that being said the 550xp is a little bit faster saw than the 501p but it cost $200.00 more. The only real differences between the two saws is the 550xp has bit more power and auto tune, the rim sprocket is outside the clutch which I like better. I'm sure Echo will soon follow the trend in auto tune carb movement.
Hopefully Echo will NOT add auto tune, when they dont work lots of money.
Nope Echo has a great market for old tried and true technology.
The gig with the auto tune is dealer dependence, just like with all the new technology in the automotive industry. Dealer dependence = F you customer, give us more of your money.
Cost more at the counter and more to maintain. Failure is designed into the product.
I'm not willing to trade off a few seconds time on a cut for the problems I've experienced with electronic carburetors.
I just got rid of a Stihl MS441C because it stops cutting when the air temps are 100 degrees . . .yet my Echo only grows stronger.
Just got an Echo CS-680 and have an Echo 7310P ordered.
They're power saws. POWER SAWS. not Mars landing probes. Leave the space age technology in space.
NOT IN MY POWER SAWS!
Did not mean that to be rude.
Just highly opinionated.
God bless you Job 38:4
Dude with husqvarna is more aggressive with bumper spikes in the race, hard to see behind echo guy, watch saw chips on 550 vs echo at first bumper not in wood, that being said I have a long love for husqvarna
Cos'è quell'aggeggio attaccato che sembra un'antenna ?

I had to look that question up on google, not sure if it's Italian or Spanish....
Lookin good OP, just bought the Echo about a month ago.
Which Echo, 501p?
@@job38four10 yeah, stupid me.. yes the 501 P, works great here is SC
my second Echo, got a 301 I bought way back in '04 also.. and 2 Stihls and a Dewalt..
Looks dead even or the Echo might be a second faster
Echo👍
I've had both in my shop and the 550 is considerably stronger. Far revier too
Okay but the Echo is much better built, magnesium crank case compared to the plastic one.
@@eugenecrabs3954 The 550 also has magnesium crank case NOT plastic......
Love my echo products, but after having a stihl ms260 for close to 20 years (still going) I just bout an ms261c. Can't beat the power to weight ratio and the reliability. I'm sure echo and husky are up there too in reliability.
Still using my 20 year old Echo GT-2400 and still starts one pull!
The best saw is one that actually runs. I have a nice 550xp with two months of use on it that's sitting in pieces on my bench. Why? Because Husqvarna chose to use crank bearings with plastic cages in them. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm looking at $400 - $600 to fix it either paying someone else or buying all the special tools I need to do it myself. The saw will likely go in the trash instead.
Did you try to get yours fixed under warrantee? Thats the same thing that happen to my first 550xp in 2013 but least I got 4 years out of it. Husqvarna seems to be making expensive junk nowadays.....
that echo needs a chain sharp
Both saws have brand new saw chains on them, no filling was done yet.
Amico affila la tua Mark 2 non taglia niente se affilata è superiore alla 501
All the echo fans look in to ho they got to design there new saws , and u won’t shit on a husky saw , this is for the one that is throwing shit at a husky
Echo are worst then Husqwarna
ECHO forever.
@@beno555ful its bad,too oldie design and something lower quality while prices same
@Corban McNeil it have that bad switch where you can turn off easilly
I can give you all the cons of your shiny new husqvarna.
1. Auto tune carb; when they stop working they are a pain in the ass
2. Shorter stroke than Echo; High rpm sure, but less torque
3. Clamshell case; they are made of plastic and are shit
4. Overpriced Overpriced Overpriced; One quart jug of bar oil is $10? get out of here
@@eugenecrabs3954 echo cutts slower, thst switch are too oldie and often switch off when it near legs and who sayed you need to buy 500 series husqwarna when 300 are something more reliable
