L3400dt front axle seal replacement
Theres nothing like trying to fix something when a manual dont help and no one made a video showing what I needed to know. All I needed to know was how the axle spindle comes off, I wasn't sure if there was another snap-ring because beating it with hammer didn't seam like it was working. All there was just one snap-ring, what seem to work was hammer and prybars to keep prying the hub down, it was stuck on spindle....... This was suppose to be a two part video but I forgot to push record for taking the left side spindle off.......

After clutch job at 1500 hr, and 4 times of adjusting two-stage clutch on tractor, I went for test drive and after tractor was all warmed up I noticed that it shifts better then when new, I dont think the clutch was adjusted right at the factory. The tractor now goes right into gear from neutral without grinding, and now it's been around 800 hrs since I been able to take the shifter right out o...

After about 4 times of adjusting two-stage clutch, the pto goes in without grinding and stops when clutch petal is fully pressed down, then starts turning when I let the petal out a little and tractor dont move when in gear, to me thats ball park so I'm putting FEL mount back on and do a test drive tomorrow.....

A two hr job that takes all day, thanks to useless Kubota manual. It says first to adjust free-play on clutch petal 20-30 mm which sounds like a lot, then adjust two-stage clutch and this is where things get complicated.... It says to loosen lock-nut then tighten the adjustment bolt til makes contact with pressure plate, then back off counterclockwise 7/6 of a turn and tighten lock-nut, so what...

Tractors come apart easier then go together. After 2 hours of push pull, jack up jack down, in out and reseal, the trick was ratchet straps and couple wiggles and it's back together...... Now I have to adjust the 2-stage part of the clutch so the pto will engage.

I was watching the woods road better then security cameras at Fort Knox and still kept getting sticks banging underneath. So next on list is place for gas and oil, skid plate, roll cage and tire chains, or fix the L3400, what ever comes first......

Tractor sticks in first gear only, high low or reverse, 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive. On flat ground I can feel the tractor still wants to move with clutch petal all way in, I have to shake bucket or pop clutch with brake on to get out of gear, but only happens in 1st gear and I'm the only one in the world that has this problem. Tractor has been doing that since 900 hr/9 years-ish, it now has 1,500...

I made this cage to come off in several easy to handle pieces, this time I'm trying to take a short cut, I took out 10 minutes of thinking and error video. Most of my thinking was on how to pull out 4 stake points with 1 winch point, the solution is 4 winches, but one is all I can afford on this up and coming $1000.00-$2000.00 clutch job......

That's a common problem of those bevel gear frontends. A rental place here says they have done so many of them, they keep seal kits there, and can do one side in less than an hour. SR
Yes very common issue with compact tractors, this was first time for my tractor in 1500 hr because at 800 hours I used AT-205 ATP Re-Seal. I think the usual hours are 5-800. I'm not sure what hp tractors are before they have different design, I dont think Kubota M series have this knuckle seal problem........ I wouldn't let anyone do mine if they said they can do both sides in two hours, wheres the allowance for draining fluid, jacking up tractor, taking tires off, prying out old seals, cleaning all seal surface areas which in my mind is very important for lasting repair, then putting tires back on, adding fluid back in, cleaning up all the spilt gear oil and that stuff dont clean up easy....... I'd say it's a 4 hour job, but my son says he can now do both sides in 3 hours. I'd make a bet on that with couple ground rules, all tools cleaned put away and shop cleaned back up, all that is time that no one accounts for.......

Can you say ouch!!!!! Two clutch disc $450.00 ea. Thrust bearing $90.00, Two diaphragm springs $120.00 ea....... But Union Farm was having Open House on a Saturday 3 weeks ago and gave me 14% off on parts so that was good!!! We tried tractor back and forth in garage and it came right out of 1st gear so that to is a good sign. Only issue is, now that the clutch petal is set back to 20-30 mm free-play specs I cant get pto in gear, so going to try adjusting 2-stage clutch next week..........

I kind of liked oit bobcat c2035 for tree work, it was nicr for brush because it didnt care how big or small anything was, but man those tractors do not have much as far as lift capacity goes. The funny thing is an mt100 will pickup any of those trees from the very end and have an easier time remaining steady. Theyre not even that big of mini skids.
I looked up Bobcat CT2035, it's basically the same tractor as CK3510 just different color. I probably would've bought a Bobcat but they didn't have a dealer near me til couple months after I bought a Kioti.........

I fell in love with Roy Rogers when i was six years old and now I 'm 78 and I still love him..
I started watching because they are on YT and I find most of his movies has a good story line. Best part is, no bad language, no nuttily, no extreme violence like in modern westerns and or video games, I dont have to worry my grandkids might see something watching and hearing Roy Rogers.....

I see how you choke the smaller ones. I'll have to try that technique.
It's so much easier to wrap chain around 2 or 3 small trees and go and easier to unhook, but they always seem to fall off chain on way out. I have best luck wrapping chain around one tree then loop around other one, very very rare they fall off the chain that way......

Sounds like your clutch was slipping a little, on those hard pulls. We don't have any snow at all, in fact we will have some 50's this week, and that sounds good to me! SR
Clutch on winch slips when I use one hand but I was able to make tractor slide back 6ft. On next video I actually had to set camera on a holder so I could use two hands, that way I can bring full tension on rope, that way the wood moves, tractor slides or cable breaks . I think next week we'll loose all snow, to bad cause I still have a little more wood to bring out. Right now as soon as I get on bare ground the wood is like putting brakes on....... Today I just hurt my leg when I cut branch off 8' long 2"dia, it hit me so hard below the knee I can barely walk, first time in 50 years of cutting wood I had a branch hit me this hard, it's a good way to learn to speak in tongues if you want to learn how.......

I have only about 8-10" of snow, just enough to make wood drag much easier and keeps wood, tractor and me clean, best part is theres no bugs!!!!! Do you know if tractor trans fluid will collect enough moisture to turn trans fluid white? Yesterday I such dip-stick in transmission and the stich came out creamy white, it's only been 5 years since fluid was changed, always under cover, 99% of time, never goes in deep water. Guess I better change fluid soon before white trans fluid does something bad in side....
@@job38four10 It may be the moisture has collected around the dipstick, but after 5 years I'd be changing that fluid and filter ASAP! We had one big week, long snow, that gave us a lot of snow, but for the most part it hasn't been a cold winter, I don't go to the woods anymore in the winter, so it really doesn't matter much to me. Sure, I can get decent lumber, but I dont need lumbar, what I really need is some big beams like two 4"x10"x 18', that hole in middle kinda interferes with that plan, have to try again or use a boat load of Elmer's glue........
@@job38four10 Last beam I needed was 30' long, I made it out of 2x12's, with 3/4" CDX samwiched between the layers, with construction adhesive/nails/screws. It's doing just fine as a 26' header...

As the crow flies Nova Scotia looks to be a 2 hour flight, 8 hours if by car from Mid-Coast ME, I'd have to go what we call Down East to Calas ME then cross over. That could be why the simalar trees, hills, banks, rocks, and ledge.....
