I wonder about this channel some times... I hope you guys are coming through the pandemic ok, you were instrumental in getting me into the game back in the day. Sadly I didn't have the time to get as involved with xwing as I'd like and I never made the transition to 2.0 sadly... plenty of ships on my shelf that never saw a real game. I wonder how 2.0 played out for you guys...did your gaming community survive covid restrictions?
Thanks for the comment. I think I’ve fallen off of X-Wing unfortunately. Not having access to regular play during Covid plus the shift to AMG taking over has made it hard for me to stay interested in re-learning how everything works. X-Wing is on hold for me right now unfortunately. Haven’t bought any of the new content for awhile.
Quite honestly - the best X-wing content out there. I got back to X-wing after many years to play with my kids - and Your videos are the best reviews of 1.0 edition. Even started thinking about jumping back into 2.5 :) Please come back!

Been considering new paths for future videos… Marvel United, Unmatched and Cthulhu Wars are all game systems that I would like to do content for… finding the time is the biggest issue. Glad you got Giga Robo - it was a highlight to get a playtest at GenCon several years ago for that game. We came away very impressed and were happy to help spread the world in whatever small way we contributed to it.
Thanks for the review! I'm especially interested in how the first edition and second edition ships have visually changed. You said the ship was "pretty much" the same rather than saying it was "entirely" the same. Is there a vague visual diffrence in the ships such as color or are they entirely the same? :)
So the model itself is exactly the same as the first edition. Although it doesn't show in the video very well, it's the blue/gray color of the TIEs that came in the Assault Carrier huge ship expansion and not the light gray of the original First Edition TIEs. The paint job does seem slightly better; crisper lines and brighter details but it's not super noticeable unless you're holding two of them up close side by side.
It's a better game; they corrected some of the mistakes that were made early on and did a lot of gameplay balancing. If you're going to play competitively you'll need to upgrade. If you're only playing casually you can easily stick with first edition and have loads of fun.
The TIE Interceptors are awesome. They have 3 attack-value, 3 agility and 3 hull (no shields). The action-bar contains Focus, Evade, Barrel Roll and Boost. All Interceptors come with Autothrusters, meaning after you perform an action you are allowed a red (stress!) Boost or Barrel Roll. Really great for outmaneuvering your opponents. Also, all Interceptors can equip two modifications. Great ship!
The Imperial conversion kit was sold out when I was at Gen Con so I won't be able to try out the 2.0 Interceptors until next month but we know the details and they look good. In excited to put Second Edition Soontir Fel on the table!
