I have this same folio in crazy horse brown and I love the imperfections! It takes on character that feels very personal.
That keychain would be great for an Apple Air Tag so you can always find your notebook.
Thanks for a really thorough and useful review. I particularly appreciated the discussion of raw leather, as well as your choice to go with that rather than the more popular choice for all our benefit.
I've already ordered mine in the Crazy Horse but this has inspired me to make future purchases in raw.

I love watching the change but I always try to warn people that it's not for the faint of heart haha! I'm going to order the brown crazy horse leather version as well, as I love a good deep brown color!

It's scary getting the first marks on undyed leather, but once it starts the aging process it's so fun to watch it change!

I'm glad I could help convince you! Yes, undyed leather is an adventure because every single piece ages differently. Adding some leather oil or balm and then setting it out in the sun to tan will help it change color more quickly. I can't wait to see how mine ages! Thank you so much for watching!

Thank you for your great review. I would use the key holder for my office fob so it would always be handy when I arrive at the office. Definitely agree wouldn't want to use regular keys that would scratch pens!

This is so helpful! Mine is arriving today but while waiting I fell in love with a totally different TN system so wasn't sure how to use this once it arrives... it can be for more beautiful notes and sketches!

Thank you so much for watching! Yes, undyed leather is so unique. It always takes me a long while before I muster up the courage to use it haha!
I'm not at all fond of the color of undyed leather, but I love the fact that I can dye it on my own. I also like to use Mink Oil Paste on undyed leather, which darkens it quickly. With some leather, you can go all the way to black, if you like.
I used to make and sell traveler's notebooks and I have a bunch of leftover undyed leather I'd love to experiment applying color to! I'll have to check out the mink oil paste, I've never heard of it. Thank you so much for watching!
The Evil Eye is a Middle Eastern / Jewish thing. As a matter of fact, because the Jewish religion has migrated to so many countries, Central American people use it as well. I've been on the fence of getting the A5, but then I also really like the 5 pen zipper pen holder, or the 10 pen holder .... ah decisions, decisions LOL I also really love the concept of undyed leather, I love it when my TNs get all he scuff marks and little scratches from use.

The key could be for an office key like a safe but it would be bulky and may damage items like you mentioned.
Very good review! But I cannot believe that writing on the left side will work for me. Also I think it is so big, that I would need a backpack to carry it around. If I have a backpack I don’t need a „all in one“ cover. So your review has saved me money. Stay healthy, greetings from Austria.

Thanks a lot for your review! I've already watched a ton of reviews of this folio, but none of them answered my question which the only one that stops me from buying one of these instantly. There were several reports on reddit that the pen loops on these leave dye or scratch marks on their pens. I plan to use it for not so cheap pens, so right now it's a stopper for me. Could you please tell me if you have noticed the same behaviour of the leather with your pens? Thank you in advance!
I would not see how this leather would mark pens as it is an undyed leather so there is no color to rub off onto other surfaces.
Thank you so much for this video. I would have liked to see if you could fill all pen loops and put a notebook and still zip it but that’s ok because I probably won’t be doing that. 😂. But thank you for convincing me that I need to buy this folio. I was hesitant because of the hefty price (for me it’s hefty) but I think it’s a good investment because it will probably last me years if not a lifetime. Thanks again!

I think I would consider writing only the right side of the notebook or in case of a vertical notebook I would flip it over and only use the frontpage. As for carrying the cover when it is closed with contents: having a note book inside as well as the 4 slotpenholder with 4 pens, it might be a very tight fit. It seems that it works better with your aquarelbrushes, they are much thinner. It is a beautiful item nonetheless.

I ordered one in Crazy Horse Brown along with some notebooks and an EDC Wallet in CHB. Hasn’t shipped yet, but they are making some products as they are ordered now. I got emails confirming the order, and then an email from Yunus advising about production times. Anxiously waiting for it to arrive, but could take a few weeks right now.

I was just searchin for a way to carry my watercolours and it was a great surprise for me you reviewed it at the end. Sadly I take a teeny but thicker than yours pan water color pallete. Its 1.5 cms (0.6 inch) wide. Do you think it would fit with the same moleskine watercolor book?

Before purchasing any item from Galen Leather please make sure you are aware of the shipping costs. Despite my invoice including the cost of shipping, the delivery company UPS requested a further £30 English pounds before I was allowed my parcel. Make sure you make enquiries before purchasing! I was advised by Yusuf that this is mentioned on their website. Clearly I had missed that section. I advise you to be careful. The product I purchased is lovely. It is a shame that it has been ruined for me paying a lot more money than expected. I will make it my mission to ensure that everyone is aware on all social platforms. I know I can’t be the first to suffer from this!
I got stung a long time ago with import charges to the U.K., But I think the Galen products are so reasonably priced, I won't mind paying.
I really like your review! I have a question for you, I have an iPad mini with an attached keyboard which makes it about 3/4-7/8” thick, I also like writing in a Rhodia A5 notepad, is there enough room for both in your opinion? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
