  • Let's explore the beautiful poetry and life of John Keats (1795 - 1821).
I'll be focusing mainly on the year 1819, when Keats wrote some of the most famous poems in the English language, such as 'Ode to Psyche', 'Ode on Melancholy', 'Ode to a Nightingale' and 'Ode on a Grecian Urn'.
I will read these Odes to you, setting them in the context of his life, the literary movements of the time, and some of their own poetic meanings.
They are beautiful works of literature, and the house where he wrote some of them still exists in a lovely garden in Hampstead, London!

I visited Kenwood House, Keats’ house and Hampstead Forest in 2010; it was a memorable trip! Thank you for bringing some wonderful memories back. Coincidentally, my flight from London back to New York featured the film “Bright Star,” about Keats’ romance at Hampstead!
