That being said, I will still use rare candy lol
Well said! 👏👏👏👏
Rare candy till the end 😉
Yeah!
Does it aucatly not increase stats?
AYYY
Ash was surprisingly cool with Pikachu leaving him. Was it because he knew about the effects of rare candy, or was it just Ash thinking "Well, you're level 100, and therefore my strongest Pokemon. Goodbye"?
He was too strong to be on ash’s team lol
@@Gumbino Watch him still lose to a level 5 Snivy :D
Yet some how he completed his life’s goal
Poor Pikachu, not even Team Rocket wants him anymore😅 Great video, thanks Gumbino :)

This was the most hilarious thing ever, I loved the part with officer Jenny making it look like it was illegal to have rare candies 😂 though I felt sorry for Pikachu in the end.

lol! I wonder why Ash doesn't want Pikachu anymore? Same goes Team Rocket. I thought it was their life's goal to capture him for Giovanni. Poor Pikachu. I feel sorry for him in the end. Thanks for the laughs, Gumbino!
Effort values. Rare candies increase your level but only increase your stats linearly. The pokemon franchise introduced the effort value mechanic and tied it to both battle experience, and personality. If you've ever played any of the games starting with GBA ruby, sapphire, or emerald, you'll notice that stat increases are not balanced within the same species. Instead it's tied to ones nature/personality. A timid natured seviper for instance can have as much as 50 less attack stat than a naughty nature at lvl 100, and something like their agility (evasion) can vary just as widely, compared to another seviper, or any pokemon of the same species.
I forget at what level the effort values/battle related stat increases caps (I think it's 60 but I haven't played any pokemon since 2007), but after that level they only increase at a predetermined rate like 1'2'2'1'3 for each stat instead of 0'1'2'0'2 randomly for each stat position at each increasing lvl. Over all until you get to that lvl cap, that stat increases average out to a predetermined stat lvl.
This is the whole premise for competitive battle strategies in multiplayer tournaments and gameplay.
So, in summary, battle leveled pokemon are always stronger than rare candy leveled pokemon at the same lvl. So takin your lvl 1 and Pikachu and not "training" it through battles and just giving it rare candies will always result in an inferior character.
His Pikachu is basically worthless if it no longer has the potential to maximize it's stats.
Any questions? Because I feel like I confused myself.
@@nunyabisnass1141
Short answer from the 3rd generation onwards pokemon who leveled up through combat gain higher stats than those who leveled with rare candy.
If the game was competitive it is a good adition and rare is for completing the pokedex.
@@nunyabisnass1141 better answer, EV's are a numerical increase that is based upon level and Pokemon battled. Example, if you raised a pokemon to level 99 without ever having it battle, you could in theory battle pokemon and use stuff like iron/calcium to increase the Pokemon's effort values to a maximum of 252 (255 wastes 3) but there is a limited amount of EV's that can be obtained, something like 512. that can be spread into any of the stats. if you were at 99 with those increases and leveled to 100, you would gain 64 + the base amount gained for the increased stat. however, if you were at say level 50, the outcome is roughly half that ( I don't remember the exact amount), but when you level up to 100, the amount gained would be the same.
@@Raximus3000 yep, that's a good enough explanation, or at least it wod have been for when I still played. I didn't learn about EVs until I stopped playing, and learned it was literally impossible to complete the Pokedex without cheating.
@@nathanielbass771 as you can see, I knew just barely enough to get the joke, but never gained the experience to put it into practice that would allow me to explain it well. The first time I came across EVs and learned there was a purpose to breeding by natures, I just thought that was waaaay too much work for a game, but the reality is that it's a lot simpler than originally thought it to be, just tedious. You're literally looking at like 50 hours of work at least before thinking you can enter the competitive arena. On the other hand, it did offer a good end game goal for those that truly enjoyed the game, which is not something I see really anywhere outside of speed runs.

Rare Candys got replaced by EXP candy in recent gens, EXP candy is like raising the Pokemon manually.
Rare Candy still exist in gen 9 it was not replaced.
@@2010supersonic Reality in Gen 9 is why would you use Rare Candy when EXP candy is the same as trained experience?
The main difference between battle training and candy training is that you don't get EVs so at lv100 you will be weaker than a properly trained lv100, but if you are already max EVs, then There's no difference between rare candies and regular XP
yeah, fun fact: Rare candies do level up your Pokémon normally but they don't apply any EV (which are extra points) gained from what other Pokémon they defeated. They may not be much at first but they do add up over time making quite a difference for completive gameplay.
Great video, one of my favorites so far

Yeeees another Gumbino video 🔥🔥🔥🔥
if we gave a rare candy to gumbino, what would happen?
Then videos would come out at Monday & Friday at *2* pm central
the videos would either start playing in reverse... or they'd explode XD
Every single time you post something it is truly a miracle
Then this Pikachu used Thunder God Slaying Cannon.
I see Officer Jenny is still ineffective at catching criminals.
Maybe Ash is the one who needs the Rare Candy himself so that he can finally grow up.
no can do rare candy is only made for pokemon if a human eats it the effects will be random like it would result him having one of his arms grow twice its size but the rest his body be normal or something

ah this brings back memories. in gen 1 the being weaker was actually accurate. cause of how wierd evs were. think starting gen 3 evs are given on kill and not on level up meaning it doesnt matter when rare candies are used
Its like pickachu just said Shazam after eating the rare candy hahaha...
I've never played the Pokémon games, but is this true? I'm assuming that rare candy raises your levels and allows you to use more moves, but doesn't actually raise your stats properly or something to that affect?
I think it's referring to the fact that you gain no EVs from leveling up with Rare Candies.
Yup. Pokémon gain Effort Values (EVs) from defeating other Pokémon, up until they reach the max of 510, which go towards increasing stats.
If you just max out your level through Rare Candies only and ignore battling, your stats wind up lower than they should be. If you reach max EVs before you use Rare Candies then it's no longer an issue
@@TheKing-ck3ty So why would anyone use rare candies? Do you think that was a featured added for the kids that wanted instant gratification and bragging rights?
@@sigma20xx Rare Candies have been around since RBY, they are just a way to level up faster and, like you said, help players spend less time getting to Level 100 if they so choose. Though it has been since like Gen 5/6 where EVs you gain after reaching Level 100 can still affect your stats, so you can get to Level 100, EV Train, and your Pokémon will be as strong as a Pokémon who did it all the long way.
@@sigma20xxIt's not really a drawback. You'll hit max effort value long before max level even if you use every candy in the game on one poke
Wait since Pikachu is now level 100 will this be his design from now on?
This why I never use rare candies...
just EXP candies XS, S, M, L and XL :v

That does make sense tho, he is basically weakest maxed lvl Pikachu with no EVs
Rare candy not even ONCE!!!!
Pikachu ruined his whole life just by eating candy.
Good video
Give the pretty little girl her own jacked up unicorn.
If would like to see this level 100 Pikachu fight vs Red Pikachu.
Video game competition next video when?
That was actually true for a while due to how Ev's worked (you couldn't gain Ev improvements til lvl up and since lvl 100 is the final lvl it meant a pokemon at lvl 100 couldn't be Ev trained. Important note this has been fixed in the newer gen games. ( Also, you could get to lvl 99 and max out Evs and then see some MASSIVE GAINS) all added up the same but at 99 it would be added all at once rather then over time.
Who’s that Pokémon?
ITTT’S GIGACHU!
Glad to see the pretty little girl and the dad from the Delibird episode return

The EV Trained Clefairy from Pokemon Rusty.

I dont think i understand, level up raises your stats too. 🤔 am i just thinking about this too hard?
you get less stats than if you ev train the pokemon, you only gain stats based on the iv of the pokemon if you only level using rare candy. its a big difference in power.
