Great points! I went back DVDs because I got tired of streaming Services. The high prices, the ads… i now have over 1 thousand movies and tv shows. I don’t see my self going back to streaming.

I'm getting really sick of having to Google "where to watch [movie]" and seeing that it's only streaming on one of the 20 streaming services that I'm not subscribed to lol
and honestly for me the biggest appeal of DVDs is just getting to see them stand on the shelf, as weird as that sounds haha
my top is also Back to the Future, ironically a pretty timeless trilogy imo

yeah! I didn't really mention the oversaturation of streaming services but it's another huge problem. Glad you appreciate back to the future, it's such a nostalgic trilogy for me, I got the box set when I was 5 or 6 so I grew up with them. Thanks for watching as always 🙏

Besides price on the used market and things you can’t get on Blu Ray I’ve gotten Blu Rays for the same price as what Dollar General was trying to sell Venom 2 Let there be Carnage on DVD when No Way Home was out.
I got a UHD and BR steelbook for the same 20 bucks.
I’ve also been able to thrift a lot of Blu Rays. As far as compatibility with affordable portable options you might have us there other than the digital copies.
Buying used makes Blu Ray very affordable if you know where to look.

yeah blu ray can be affordable if you do it smartly, I personally never bought blu ray as our family TV didn't support blu ray discs for a long time, so I was brought up on regular DVDs. And even now I have the means to watch blu ray, I tend to stick to regulars, but I can totally understand why you'd watch blu ray versions!

I still watch movies on DVDs, I go to the library twice every week looking for new movies. Everyone finds it weird but in my opinion DVDs add more to watching a movie, if you just watch it on Netflix you could easily skip scenes, watch any movie you want, and way much more, but there is something so special about watching it in dvd

for sure, yeah, its much more of an experience watching a DVD then just streaming something!

aside from streaming service exclusive shows anything I watch is from physical media I love having shows like cowboy bebop or Batman the animated series available to me whenever. Also the bonus features they have sometimes are genuinely really cool.

    Hey Man awesome video.
I also own a lot of movies because when I was growing up my parents didn't want to bye any streaming services and we didn't have a smart TV so all we could watch CZcams on was our family windows 10 laptop. And it was amazing every Friday when Mum got home from work She would put in the password and I could watch yt for an hour.
Will talk more tomorrow bye man

wow yeah I remember when I was younger using my parents Ipad for the same thing, I was allowed to watch CZcams for a couple hours a week haha

    never seen > stream
never seen, cheap, high IMDB rating > buy
like > cheap DVD or BR when come across it in pawn/thrift shop
like a lot > buy when relatively cheap online
