Everything Done To This Miniature Model Happens To The Real Town

- After his wife dies, Jason starts to become a hermit and chooses to spend his days cooped up in their small town's church attic. When a scale model in the likeness of his town comes into his possession, he realizes that he can do marvelous things for their community. However, being the anonymous helper around town doesn't come easy, especially when the corrupt mayor takes credit for his hard work.

If it were me, I wouldve just bought some gold dust or a single sheet of gold leaf, which is fairly affordable. Then sprinkle it into my house. You'd end up with blocks of solid gold which could essentially pay for everything in the town and make me and my family rich af.

@@EL12111 it's neither a movie nor B rated. His character isn't shallow either. If anything, him being conflicted about crossing a boundary makes the story better than a generic revenge fantasy.

I'd ask the town to evacuate with their belongings, then I'd destroy the miniature so nobody could control it. It's just too risky having something like that around. Alternatively, I'd have a monument built that's so strong and well protected that nobody could destroy the town using the miniature.

You just need to shake the model everyday for a week. People will think the tremors will lead to a larger earthquake and evacuate on their own. Then you can destroy the model.

I love the symbolism of not only providing for the town but by saying goodbye to his wife in knowing that pretty, simple band well go to help everybody do it together.

If the miniature model is part of the town? If so, then if its owner somehow causes an earthquake in the real town using the miniature, the waves affect the miniature causing the real town to shake leading to a feedback loop? Of course unless it breaks, but what then?

He could have put diamonds in the model, an oil fountain in someone's back garden, and some electrical inputs would be helpful. Basically anything that's valuable and generic (chemical compounds or elements).

I would buy insurance on the entire town for hundreds of millions of dollars for something absurd like a meteor shower. Then i would drop tiny stones on the model. Thereby destroying everything and becoming a multi millionaire
why not buying a small unprocessed Diamond and burry it in your (miniature-)yard to dig it out afterwards in its big form? Or sprinkle gold dust there like someone else in the comments said? Or maybe pee/crap on the house of your hated neighbor .. wait .. scratch the last part ..
That thing could solve world hunger, lower gas prices, even Just straight up transition us to full electric power by enlarging solar panels, could help dispose of all nuclear waste, dispose of most if not all trash in the world by transporting them to the city manually and picking up the smaller version from the table.

Clearly that town had little to no official people maintaining it, also the ring would disappear once the real smaller ring is removed from the magic model (just like the spider). Instead the main character's wife's town model ending up destroying more than solving, overall theres a net loss. The town is in worse shape in the end than before the man discovered the magic model. The townsfolks are (unfortunately) useless. Now cars and buildings are ruined, but hey at least they now have a peach coloured building to look at.

@@AzA609 To make the ring safe and not have to worry about it coming off the model they just need to take the ring out of town. The model accurately reflects the real world and both worlds can affect each other. So what you do is put something in the model and then move it in real life outside the limit of what the model can show. The object should then dissapear from the model and be safe in the real world since its now outside of the model's range of control.
@@AzA609 actually if you notice he said it probably won't work anymore meaning the model itself in the beginning had a windup gear sort of like a music box so when it fell the gear was done so this means whatever was spawned in the town was permanent now but the model doesn't work anymore so it can't be used same way again but they have a wide probably 10 foot gold ring to meltdown or chip pieces off of to make the town incredible from than on so imo it's not a bad story or ending I liked it ...oh wait you're right about someone possibly stealing it but the people in this small town seem nice they don't appear to be that type plus you can't move something heavy like that without been noticed I think

If i had this miniature then i would use it to put valuable objects to sell later going door to door giving people amount of money each you have no idea how helpful this could be for the town

I would say that I found a company willing to work with me for a low cost. After doing a few jobs I would then tell them if you made me mayor, I would use the salary to fix up the whole town. After elected, I would help the people and make a popular business named after my wife.

I saw a movie recap on this before. the story is good enough to watch it again in a video.
I'd install a tiny battery in the top of the church and feed it back into the miniature, so I can provide infinite energy and hope the universe doesn't go boom.

You aren’t supposed to give dogs chicken bones. They break and turn into razor sharp death needles. One got caught in my dogs throat a long time ago.

Another lame Twilight Zone reincarnation. Too bad we can't resurrect Rod Serling. The original series is still brilliant, but then they used writers with real talent for storytelling and a gift of imagination which modern audiences have forgotten how to use. Rod created worlds of fantasy while tackling real social , racial, economic and political fears of his day, but did it subtly.

The new Twilight Zone hosted by Jordan Peele is great! Personally not as captivating as the original but still brilliant.

It's not a movie, it's an episode from an anthology tv series inspired by the original Twilight zone. And it's pretty good, different from the original but still good.

is this film based on a children's book??? I have vivid memories of reading a story just like this when I was in school with the coolest teacher ive ever had. but I haven't ever remembered the name of it. a key detail of the book itself was the inhabitants of the tabletop village model carved tunnels inside the wood of the table itself

Hi! Frederick Pohl in the 1950's wrote a story called "Tunnel Under The World" which had a similar situation of people living on a tabletop who were being used to test advertising products and 1 guy becomes conscious that something is wrong. It is really good and was made into a radio play on X-minus 1 or Dimension X.
