Proper Use and Placement of a Magnetic Ball

Forrest Micke's series of DVDs and online courses takes an in-depth approach to heeling. One of the tools he uses during this process is a magnetic ball. While a seemingly simply concept, there are a ton of intricate details in the implementation and use of magnetic balls as rewards in training. Very good video! As usual! Question:in the trial you can't have the reward , and my dog heels with less intensity and less attention when the ball is not present. How do you remove the ball once in a while to do the exercise without the ball ?
