Here I am I truly want Kackie to lean into the pink more although I haven’t watched this video yet. Trying to not go pink has a way of making things turn orange, but pinks are so flattering with her coloring.

I finished a tube of Glossier storm cloud paint like 3 years ago and I've never been so relieved to be rid of stress in my makeup routine 😂 it was always too much and I couldn't do a thing about it.

We are skin twins enough that your complexion color recommendations never steer me wrong, but our undertones are ever so slightly different, so whenever you're like "this is perfectly rusty" I know it will look very brown and dirty on me, and when it's too pink or berry on you, that's prob the one I want 🖤. This sounds like a complaint but it's still 100% helpful!

My fav fjordsy blush is mellow wine from wet n wild. I repurchased twice, been using it for years. I have pretty neutral undertones, so in winter is my perfect "i have been outside in the cold for too long" color, but it's amazing cause during summer when i tan i become more golden and it becomes an incredibile sunburnt color on me! Love it

I remember trying the original photofocus foundation back in like 2017 cause Tati was raving about it, it was nice but not as much coverage as I was looking for at the time, now i would probably apreciate it more. So many beautiful blushes! I have to say I’m a blush junkie. I highly recommend Nudestix as a fabulous blush. My favorite is Naughty and Spice but there are so many gorgeous shades. You must give them a look!
When you do swatch videos like this…I go buy a bunch of blush lol it’s how I’ve found some favorite formulas and shades of mine! When you swatched the Valentino shade that was too deep for you, I immediately thought of the rms beauty hanky panky blush! I think the rms works for lighter skin bc it has some more pink in it than the richness of the Valentino shade. And I’m glad someone else had the same issue with the merit blush! I wanted to love it so much but I got one of them during the Sephora sale and just had to return it after trying it one time. I felt like I just kept putting it on and on and on and was getting nothing
This may be helpful. I generally buy all blushes kackie loves in the same shade and love them. I bought Hanky panky after this video because it looked fun. It turned out looking like prune juice on my skin. I get better fjords cheek by layering divine rose and pink glow. Also salt New York’s new reddy shade blends out well. I wear some of the same foundations at kackie but I think my skin if more of a pink/blue version of Hannah Louise. I hope this helps. I love kackie and I love the 9-10 blushes she “made” me buy. Thanks kackie for your fun efforts.

I'm surprised that you didn't show After Hours from tower 28. I think you've shown it before, that could be why. Honest Beauty Plum Berry is another shade that is worth checking out. It can definitely be too intense for light skin but I apply a very small amount and it looks very pretty.

As someone with a light olive undertone with some surface redness, I can only wear already muted colors since my skin is so muted too. Almost anything will pull its undertone on me very severely (like pink, peach, yellow) if it is not already my perfect color or like a mauve/dusty rose. It makes shopping for products harder since I can’t find concealers that don’t change colors, and I can’t ever do the baby doll pink or coral blushes most brands have, but now that I finally know my undertone it is SO much easier actually picking things that will reliably look good on me. I wish I could pull off the fjords cheeks tho 😭 maybe I’ll try it by mixing a mauve and rosy color 😊
Aveda Windburn was my go-to gif this look, and I’ve looked for a dupe of it ever since. It was a loose blush, and how it looked in the pot is not how it translated on the skin.

I’ve been looking at Gucci Warm Berry as a possible fjordy colour similar to Glossier Storm but as a powder formula but I haven’t been able to swatch it cause I live in a small town
Love this! These are the shades I can wear unless its a shade of pink. Anything with orange in it makes me look like I have jaundice including the cult fav orgasm.

Shelbey is darker, than You, but You look more golden to me. Yes, I checked it, in one video she used LE foundation n. 7 (neutral undertones) and You used n.3 ( golden undertones). I didn't found video with Samantha using LE foundation, so I don't know, if she is more golden, than You - doesn't look to me... But I know, the screen changes colors. I don't want to be annoying, just to add.

I have so many color theory questions, but if you're inclined to indulge me, could we start with why do all the complexion products (including concealers) turn orange on me? I don't think it's like oxidizing, I think it's you turn colors pink and I turn colors orange. But basically I would so appreciate a video on "how to choose your complexion product color based off of how terrible everything you put on your skin looks."
Like, if you look like you got a cheap spray tan = your skin has these colors/your product went too far this way. . .if you now look like you have a greenish tint and are ill. . .if you don't know what color you are but now look like you are exhausted and sad. . .
Either way (if you indulge or don't), thanks for being the kinda person who explains the why. Comes a certain point where you realize sharing knowledge is real generosity!
So the opposite of orange is blue! It's likely you have cool toned skin. It depends if it's a peachy orange (pink-orange) which could mean you have greener undertones (green is opposite of red/pink), and if it's a yellow orange you might have purple-blue undertones.
Another thing to note is just some brands are just packed with color so you have to consider saturation too!

I don't think it's over-all pigmentation concentration, because it happens even with bb/cc type stuff.
But after mulling over your response, I'm thinking maybe it's not a color wheel question, maybe it's a medium question. I think I was thinking that the color of my skin and the color of the product would combine. So I was thinking if I used a product opposite the color wheel, my skin and thr product would, in combination in combination, neutralize and maybe even lean grey/brown/muddy. And rhen I thought if it was too orange, it must be combining, like orange skin + orange product = way so too much orange.
But nothing is actually combining, is it? So there's no neutralizing or additive properties; it's either blending in or else contrasting.
But then how do things like color correctors work? This is the part that makes my brain hurt. If putting a warm product on my cool skin makes the warm product look way, way, way to warm. . .what's a girl to do about deep dark circles brought on by years of (thankfully, improving!) Chronic illness? Big orange circles under my eyes are no more appealing than big blue circles.
So I guess maybe I'm not confused by the color wheel, but instead how the medium and the canvas are working together, if you have some insight to share on that, it would be amazing.
