Coop does have waterproofing covers for his implants. They just take a lot of time to get on and off. Plus it had started lightening, so that was my main reason for not just having him take them off and going out without them on at all. :)
It's unfortunate that they don't make them waterproof, considering some storms come out of no where. That's expensive technology to ruin cause someone got caught out in a storm!

I love all your analogies you use with Cooper. I’ve never thought of things the way you do. You’re such a great, inspirational, Mother! Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow!!
Everything about Coop is sweet & lovable! It’s adorably fascinating watching Coop absorb his mom’s explanations & employ tactics to calm himself that rephrase & emphasize & cement his mom’s reassurances. Though he doesn’t yet truly believe “it’s funny,” you can see that him saying that & making himself laugh is helping him face & overcome his fears. He’s a brave & joyfully sunny tyke, who’s clearly well-loved & being raised wonderfully!! Mom & Dad are doing a great job preserve & encourage his kindness, compassion & joy!! 👍🏽👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Beth, you are such an amazing Mom! You always know exactly how to explain new experiences to Cooper. You two make such an inspirational pair for so many parents & children, disabled or not. Thank you so much for sharing your family’s journey! 🫶
Love this! My mom gave me the love of storms and I was determined to give it to my children as well. Love that your teaching him that it's not scary! It's beautiful! He's adorable❤
The little pout at the end when you told him he couldn’t be outside in rain because of his cochlear implant was just🥹😭 Your such a good mother, the fact that you communicate so well and present yourself with such emotional maturity towards your child is something I truly valued about my parents, please never stop ❤️
Love Cooper's laugh🥰 He's the sweetest boy awwwww. I love the way you explain things to him and how he understands what you are explaining to him. He's such a bright boy 🙏🥰 Love you guys ❤️
His little face is so full of emotion that him tearing up makes me tear up. It’s something about his eyes that just makes feel for him when he doesn’t understand something. Then he smiles and all is well again.😊
I see it every day and it still blows me away how expressive he is! I think it's because the first 10 months of his life, he didn't have sound to rely on, just expressions and visuals.
I’m so impressed with the way you handled that. I’ve seen kids ages 8 who were so scared of thunderstorms the announcement of a penitential thunderstorm made them cry
I looooved watching this! Great way to ease his fears! Sweet boy! And the cherry on top was his pout when he couldn't go outside. "It took a deep breath and it calmed down" what a beautiful way to teach that! ❤
This is so sweet ❤ omg!! Such a good boy. I’ve never thought of explaining thunder to someone. It would be weird like “the sky makes noise sometimes!?”
I LOVE how you make the time to explain what’s going on to Coop & how you teach him to self-soothe. You, Coop, & your family have been a blessing to many. May you & your loved ones continue to be blessed & protected💚✨
He’s a beautiful child, god bless him. I’m very impressed with how you explain things in a way that he can understand , well done you 😃👌. Love from Dublin, Southern Ireland ☘️☘️🇮🇪❤️
Coop definitely thought about it very deeply when Momma said that those (specific) ears couldn't get wet. He is adorable and is LEARNING SO VERY MUCH! Momma helped him to understand that it can be fun & not scary to listen to thunder!! (My Daddy did that with me....very fond memories swinging on our front porch swing as thunderstorms were developing...). ❤❤❤ I LOVE Coop's dear voice. I also LOVE how he carefully says the word "glasses." Thank you for sharing your sweet Cooper with us. I'm learning right along with him! ❤❤❤ He's wonderful.
That kid right there will get eyes on him wherever he goes with a baby face like that! He’s so adorable,it was too sad when you told him his ears couldn’t get wet🥺
Such a sweet gift you gave your child-the gift of listening to scary things rather than running away from them. That’s what it takes to face the world, solve problems thoughtfully and consider different ways to think about what’s happening around us. Wonderful parenting!
Cooper is the cutest little guy on this Planet. He looks so adorable...i hope he ll live a long and happy Cooper Life❤. Best wishes from Hamburg/Germany

He’s the CUTEST. From one mom to another - I love the way you handled his fear. 🥰 I love storms, too - so much that I’m a stormchaser. Cooper might be a chaser in the making!
This has got to be one of the cutest videos of Coop! He’s both so terrified of the storm yet so fascinated by it in a way only young children can be and it’s so precious 🥹 too bad he couldn’t stay out in the rain for too long though, it looked like he was having really fun

My ear’s can’t get wet either, so I can relate! Maybe on non-lightning not super windy storms, an umbrella would be helpful?
