  • In this oral history interview, artist Larry Bell Larry Bell discusses his his styles, influences and techniques in various artworks over his lifetime. He also speaks about his education and experiences at Chouinard Art Institute, and also briefly focuses on how Bob Irwin altered his decision to pursue cartooning to painting. This interview was conducted by Andrew Perchuk and Rani Singh in Larry Bell's studio in Venice, California on March 1, 2012.
    The Getty Research Institute (GRI) hosted events and conducted oral histories inspired by the "Modern Art in Los Angeles" theme beginning in 2003. Much of the GRI's Modern Art in Los Angeles activities were incorporated into the Getty's larger initiative, "Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A.," which focused on postwar art (1945-1980) in Los Angeles.
