How To Hang Curtains From Ceiling to Floor | DIY | Vidga Track Rail | Silverlonn Sheer Curtains

- Hi! I was not able to show in the video, we did use an expanding metal wall anchor for it to hold on the ceiling. We use a hollow wall anchor (M4x38mm). We also use a setting tool to install the anchor.
What we use:
Screw size: M4x38mm
Hollow wall anchor (M4x38mm)
Setting tool
Vidga track rail from ikea 140 cm (this comes with 2 connectors and 2 end caps)

- this is the longest they have. You may need to connect two of these for wider window or sliding doors.
Silverlonn curtains

We use 3 curtains for each bedroom windows and 4-5 curtains in the living room and sliding doors.
Hilja Curtains

We use this curtain for the bedrooms. This is a much affordable alrernative to Silverlonn and just as lovely!

I have a question. The waves of a normal curtain are wider than the track itself so how is it possible to fit three curtains? Won't everything be squished together and have no depth?

Hi, we are using Silverlonn curtain and Hilja on our bedrooms. They are both from Ikea. I also added some block out curtains which i hang the same way 😊

Looks great. How many curtains can you hang in the rail? Can I have one black out curtain and one shear curtain? Is it easy to remove the curtain for cleaning?
Hi! We put 4 sheer curtains. I also added 2 block out curtains now. One each side. Its easy to remove curtains, they glide smoothly. Just unscrew the encap on onr side. Make sure you leave about 2-3 inches allowance from your rail to the edge of your wall so you can still remove the encap.
Hi, yours turned out amazing. I’m planning on getting the same track. I was wondering, can you have a double layer of curtains on it, that is can I have my sheer and blockout curtains on the same track?

Hi! Thank you for watching. We added block out curtains for awhile now which is heavier and its all good. Also i was not able to show on cam but i added in the description that we use hollow wall anchor otherwise with just screw alone it will instantly fall off 😆

I need only 2 rails solution on ceiling (I want 1 pair of sheers and 1pair of curtains), but ikea doesnt have such option, only these 3 rails like you have. But I am little worried about how it looks in reality and when the curtains are open - isnt it ugly when there are visible 3 "lines" (when you are standing under or near to it) ? 2 lines whould look more elegant :(

Did you screw into the ceiling joist? and use wall plugs? how are they holding up now?
Hi, only some of them are attach into the ceiling joist. We use anchor bolt not the wall plugs. It is still holding up until now, we added black out curtains to some of it which is heavier and its still holding up

I saw in a comment you said you hung drapery from them -- were you able to use two of the tracks, then? Like the sheer curtains in this video AND the drapery?

Hi! Thank you for watching 😊 Yes we use two triple track rail for each window and sliding door. For the bedrooms we added the thick curtain along with the sheer.

The connector comes with the rail track as a set. Im not sure if they changed it now

Question, so the more hooks u add to the curtain the more of a pleaded look u get ????
Hi, each curtain has about 10 hooks you can put on, so we just follow it and use 3 curtains each window to make it more pleaded. If you want a pleaded curtain, there is a certain hook for it in ikea called RIKTIG curtain hook.

Hi! I was not able to show it in the video, i just added it in the description. We did use an expanding metal hollow wall anchor. 1 anchor can hold around 15 kilos but depending on your ceiling. Our ceiling plaster board is 10mm. We also use a setting tool to install the anchors.

Wait.. you didn't use the ceiling brackets? If you don't you cannot just easily take them back down if a clip breaks etc.
Good point! I was trying to weigh out the pros & cons of directly mounting the track vs. using the mounting brackets

I cut mine using hack saw
like the comment below, you can cut it with a hack saw. We cut ours for our bedroom windows.

The curtains are beautiful in the long run, the installation part seems abit complicated.

Hi! I checked it out and the ceiling fitting is not available anymore. They include it in a set if you buy the vidga track rail. I changed the link to the track rail. It should be working now :)
