This system is very similar to what we had in Germany years ago from childhood and Im 74 now. Love it as no dust can collect on top of curtains and no rods to dust as well! There was also a piece to cover the track !

Our house in Australia has these tracks. It was built over 40 years ago by a Dutchman who had moved to Australia. I still have the curtains that were made in Holland at the same time.

some kids tend to pull off the curtains for fun, I would probably add an anchor before the screw. overall, it looks beautiful.

Such a cute couple! I have 6 large windows in my living room so this is gonna work perfect! As multiple curtain rods look tacky to me. Especially in an all white living room

Thank you so much for this video, the best one I've found explaining how to install the Vidga track system. We are also ordering white blackout velvet curtains from ChadMade. Wouldn't have found them without you. I am curious though as to why you went with a three-track system, but only installed a single layer of curtains. Am I missing something here? Would it be okay to go with the single track system?
Of course! And I originally planned to do a layer of sheer curtains but I ended up ditching that idea and going with roller shades underneath. I could have use just the single track 🖤

Did your track come with the ceiling brackets? I just purchased 2 tracks but I didn’t see any ceiling bracket.

Yours looks great. I like the ceiling hang but I'm not sure how mine would look as my crown moulding is painted white like the ceiling. I noticed you have continued the wall colour into the moulding, it looks great.

I absolutely adore it. Looks so smart. One thing I would ask is if the wall between the two windows would look better covered? Having it as it is now, the track may as well not go across the whole wall, no?

It comes in one of the hardware packs - I believe it’s in the VIDGA pack but may be the ceiling bracket pack, not sure!

Planning on doing custom measurements as well. If I want the length of the curtain to be perfectly almost touching the floor, but not dragging, how much do you deduct taking into consideration the size of the track railing?
hmm... I just ordered curtains the size of my ceiling height. I didn't get that precise, but it seemed to work out perfectly

I originally had planned to do a layer of sheer curtains along with the black out layer, but decided I think were going to do a black out roller shade instead of the sheer since I think it will be easier for daily use when the baby is here. I had already ordered the 3 track before we made that decision ☺️
The custom curtains you ordered off of Amazon where they the exact length you needed or did you have to hem them?

It’s not sloped! I don’t know if the curtains would stay in place on a slope, but that probably depends on how steep the slope is

It comes with the track now, according to IKEA.

Yes, the 3 track you can layer up to 3 curtains or so I understand it

Nice look. That is a double rod then? Can hang 2 layers? Have a super sunny room with a view so wanted a sheer layer to not be blinded by and heavier one for sleeping..

We have a wall of doors with windows and used this type of system. Just push the curtains aside to open the doors. Helpful video!

Hi Sarah. Thanks so much for the helpful tips. Curious as to why you used the multi track if you only hung one row of panels? Unless you’re planning to add a second layer in between the pink? It’s my first time installing the Vidga so I was doing research and your video came up. 🙂

You don’t need to use the triple. You can just use one. And the Ike curtain will cover most of the track which is nice. We used two single ones to install a linen shear in the front, and two at the back on the same track. We wanted a block out curtain, but the ikea blockout has a black plastic finish. So, we put a darkening and a black out on the same track. It was tricky, but we managed a way to put them back to back on the same track.
When you use two single tracks, You just have to space them so that the curtains can slide freely.

It does, yes!
Ok saw something similar on amazon had no idea ikea had this. I would love to put it on the ceiling but we have concrete ceilings (in a condo) so curious more about how to hang them on the wall
Did you have any concerns regarding anchoring into a stud on the ceiling. I'm concerns about the weight of my curtains pulling the vidga from the ceiling

I was waiting for IKEA to have them in stock as well… But ended up just ordering them off eBay… I was able to order a track and then a second check that was a custom size so that I could fill the whole wall

This is helpful, I'm looking for a solution for curtains on a condo window wall that isn't straight, the wall cuts into a den but is all glass, no place for a rod but the ceiling is a great solution...who knew?!
