    The new bikes have a new frame with slightly longer back stays creating plenty of clearance! Also, they now come with an Acera derailleur and an 11 cog. The rack is new and the rear fender now attaches to the rack securely and does not flop around. They also switched to Samsung cells, need to adjust settings so battery meter is accurate. Every batch has had improvements and now the bike is perfect!!!!

    I put the settings back down close to factory and took it easy but only got about 22 miles out of the battery. I still had some juice left over but I was trying to keep it above 20% Seems like the milage is better when its maxed out. I did enjoy the peddeling , its what biking should be like. I'm stoked to see what wired comes up with next.

    Howdy, I'm new to your channel... obviously!
    I just subscribed today and I watched several of your videos starting with the one where you unpack and assembled the Wired e-bike.
    I've been doing some shopping and looking around for an e-bike to purchase, one that will give me lots of power and lots of distance.
    Right now I've narrowed it down to the Wired e-bike or aniido 177 ( I'm sure I'm misspelling the name).
    But it has (177) a reputation of going a hundred miles on a single charge but most of the videos I've watched on it it's range has toped in about 90 miles or a little less but if I remember correctly and only tops in at about 28 to 32 miles an hour.
    I look forward to your range text on the Wired e-bike.
    Later.

    very nice video - thank you
    yeah I have a couple 750 watt ebikes - but admit I like the step thru more [ez on n off - Im older :o ]
    Ive been thinking of adding a wired type ebike to my collection.
    my 750 watts are legal in many USA parks, trails ect. . .
    I have a 4 wheeler too [still not registered tho] Ive a bit of property & surrounded with logging roads & trails.
    my current ebikes are fine for their purpose. buut
    Im really liking the wired cruiser [it looks like a great step thu] Im hoping it "might" be an ok logging road rider? you know the dirt roads with more steep grades And maybe some moderate trail use?
    I have seen the wired goes fast and is ok on paved streets, But how will it be on the occasional steep up to 23% grades? [a short distance tho] will the wired let me go where a logging truck can go?
    [I have a 4 wheeler for extreme skid trail use, been there n road it there many times] too much for an ebike]
    Im hoping the wired can take me up the logging roads - there are many around this area (North Idaho)
    Ive my "legal" ebikes for their purpose, but want a good trail n dirt road ebike.
    perhaps you? or maybe you know someone that can make some good recommendations for me?
    Ive been eyeballing the wired cruiser & kinda waiting to see "if" it might fit my off road purpose?
    Also open to other suggestions.
    maybe I need to get a mid drive ebike - Im seeing there are some near the same price as the wired.
    being fast isnt my thing, better hill climbing & cruising trails, dirt roads are my tourist kinda thing.

      The new version of wired bikes is coming soon i think they will start shipping in June, it will have dual suspension on the cruiser version, dual battery on both versions, some other new improvements based on people feedback of issues, as for ebike crackdown you just need to be smart, dont use ebike whom looks like motorcycle, wired is good example since its looks like regular bike, in city where is police ride slowly, use bike lanes etc..if you want some speed fun go in some back roads where is more quite, crackdowns happening because people go crazy on ebikes going fast on pedestrian walks, bike lanes, hitting people, killing themselves and others.

      I don't have this bike but I do have a velotric nomad, which is a 73lb fat tire E bike. pedaling with 0 assistance is fine, as long as you're in gear 1-3. it is probably about 15% more difficult to pedal than a normal, non ebike road bike. it's definitely doable.
      you're not going to go past 12mph pedaling without assistance. but idk why you would buy an ebike and not use pedal assist

    • @Doc.Holiday

      @@cynic256… about 20% of my usage is for transport and shuttle while fly fishing in waders. It’s no fun to pedal in waders. They are hot and restrictive. I also use the bike when RVing for a trip to the grocery with panniers fully loaded with heavy throttle usage especially on a hot day when I want to get perishables back to the refer. The eBike provides a great mixed functional utility for me. When I want some exercise I can. Oh yea, I’m also 70 years old with many, many years of MTB, XC and Downhill experience. • @thetechgenie7374
      @thetechgenie7374 Před rokem

      Yep reason why now use the Corky Urban they fold into the bar end. Beside wipeouts you can break those handlebar mirror just riding as I like to go though narrow spaces where only a couple of inches of space and found mirror usually hits pole, or tree, or branches as they stick out to much and then they vibrate just riding as cheap mounting at least the one that clamp to handle bar. Yes you can push mirror not to stick out but then you end up blocking what you see. The Corky Urban haven’t had issues as can fold into bar end when going through tight spaces and don’t vibrate so nice and stable and can see behind you without me blocking view.

    • @zugmeister314
      @zugmeister314 Před 11 měsíci

      Maybe it’s because I’ve been riding motorcycles since ‘89 but I use mirrors that stick out like this guy and I’ve never broken one off. I find having the mirror stick out from the side gives you a much better view than something that goes under the bar (or on your helmet). The only negative I’d say for that type of mirror is it’s fiddly to get through a door, you can’t just walk straight through.

    • @thetechgenie7374
      @thetechgenie7374 Před 11 měsíci

      @@zugmeister314 Motorcycle never break them but on the roads. A e-bike mostly ride trails and sometimes sidewalks so going though narrow spaces at times. Do still have a mirror that sticks out on the side as can see behind me without me blocking view but folds in handlebars end when not needed and don’t have to worry about snapping off, if go to close to pole as can fold in, or tree as some sidewalks are narrow and a couple inches away from poles. It small but gets job done and shockingly wide view for being a small mirror.
      Never cared for mirrors that are inwards handlebars or under as you block view and can’t see off to the side well.

Mine is 1500w compared to your 1000w. I had to turn in my Suntour SP12. I weigh 200 pounds but it was rated for 220. It couldn't stay in place. Then it scratched the paint off my rear rack because it was leaning back too far. I heard Steve is thinking about making a 20x4 tire ebike. That would be awesome.

      The wired Freedom has a claimed peak rating of 2,000 watts. CZcamsr CitizenCycle unlocked his Wired Freedom and was seen in one of his video reading a peak output of 2,200+ watts. Get new MTB pedals, stock ones are cheap looking and have little traction. Consider upgrading to 203mm front rotor, you can buy the same model Tektro rotors online and a 160-203 adapter for about $40. The larger rotor gives you greater stopping power and better heat dissipation. Leave the back at 180 as it’s a pita and not really needed. The existing brakes are very good, relatively light bike and 180mm rotors are well matched but 203 front is better. These are really good performance upgrades. If you like to pedal at high speed, you can also upgrade to a 11-28 freewheel.

      I actually rode a prototype high power bike with a torque sensor and it was basically unrideable at high power. Every downstroke would cause the bike to surge violently, very unsettling. Imo the wattage PAS used by Wired is perfect for high powered bikes. This bike definitely does not need a torque sensor!
