I worked for a John Deere dealership in 1966 at age 16. A combine had arrived at the small town rail station and two of us were told to unload it from the flatbed car and drive it to the dealership. The rail car was not next to the unloaded ramp. We had an Oliver tractor, perhaps a 1600 but don't recall for sure, and used it with a chain to pull the rail car to the unloading ramp. I was surprised how easy it was to pull but we were really surprised that it didn't want to stop rolling! My work buddy stuck a 2 x 4 in front of one of the wheels and it nearly sheared it in two before stopping. I gained a bit of wisdom that day.

Continental Motors is still legendary for their bullet proof reliability.
Checker Cab used the infamous Continental Red Seal engine, and many a "cabby" bragged about it's million miles longevity.
In the late 60's my father bought at auction a milk/dairy delivery van with a Red Seal engine and converted it to our families hunting, fishing, camping rig. What a beast it was!
