  • Want to make a Bridgerton corset? I'm here to help! while I can't guarantee that this regency era stays pattern will fit you perfectly (spoiler, it probably won't) I do think its a great place to start, and should take too much alteration. (its also a great first pattern to draft if you're a beginner at creating your own patterns! if you'd like to see how I constructed these you can see in my last video, although it wasn't a tutorial so it may be a little hard to follow...Anyways, I hope you enjoy this video!
    xoxo

A few mistakes I made in this video:
    1. my gore size calculation doesn’t lineup in this video, The original measurements i used to draft the stays were bust 32, under bust 28, hence the gores being about an inch, but with the measurements I used in this video they would be closer to half an inch.
    2. When measuring the back strap with you should subtract your lacing gap. I completely forgot this.

I’m so excited to make this but like a stays binder.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who patterns like this. I always see people being extremely precise and I love that but have no idea how they do it! I treat sewing as more of an art than a formula if that makes sense.

Only a little confusing, but I went back and watched the construction video again, then I understood what you were doing. Thanks.

    Looking forward to trying this.
It was a tad confusing, but usually (for me) that resolves itself, once I actually do the steps. Lots of rain next week, so perfect timing!

oh no! my drafting process is a little chaotic so that's understandable. Hopefully things make more sense once they're on paper but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! (Instagram may be a better platform for those questions because you can send pictures)

Great drafting tips - I will definitely be using these tips later this year for my first Regency video! On another note, can I just say that I was distracted by your earrings the entire time! Like in a good way! I love how they are different from one another but complementary in weight and tone 😍

Thi was pretty much my plan but I really benefitted seeing your thinking as well.
I have a the exact opposite problem to you.
    I have a very large bust:waist
What I’ve seen others do to figure out gores is put the mock-up on and cut the lines and add and pin fabric as needed.
And adjust how deep to cut as well.
