COMPONENTS - They sent me the deluxe version, so I can't comment on all the cardboard components. But I have no complaints or issues with the components I used in this campaign.

The cost of getting the bigger box sleeping gods games in my country has made me consider this one instead, it looks like a pretty good version of those in a lot more compact size. I actually quite like the jungle exploration theme as well.

To an extent Sleeping Gods is a bit overrated. The open world and exploration elements are reminiscent of Breath of the Wild, where it's all about finding as many totems as you can before the finale is triggered, but it can take either several sessions or a full day session to play through the big box games. This one gives you the same feel in a couple hours, which makes it much more accessible. I'd honestly rather play this than one of the bigger games, or Kilforth or Mage Knight depending on how heavy an experience I want. Any of those will give you the same sort of emergent narrative experience without the massive time commitment.

It might be my favorite of the series now, specifically because it nails the pacing

How many characters do you need to control if playing solo? Might pick this up as long as it's not the full 9 member crew :) My brain capacity for that has been shrinking lately haha.

What you see in the video is what you get: 5 characters. Distant skies had the same count. Much more manageable than 9!!
