  • Through eight months we have followed a Danish priest teaching teenagers to believe in themselves and to plunge into life. We contrast this story with portraits of former members of the Japanese religious sect Aum, who abandoned their personal lives to join the cult. Aum conducted a terrorist attack in the Tokyo subway March 1995.

Is faith a way of engaging in life - or a way of escaping from it? Is faith an instrument of suppression - or a message of love? Do we believe in God because we fear death? This documentary attempts to answer these universal questions. Faith has always been a part of the human condition, every society has been built around beliefs, that seeks to create one united body. Myths and beliefs surround us, they are part of one's culture and life: believing is intrasect to the human condition. Human societies have been built around their beliefs. They have ordered their world by trying to explain it. To assert this, the documentary carries us to Denmark, where we meet a priest giving religious classes to young Danes, by encouraging Christian values, from charity to love of neighbor. but teenagers, whose cognitive abilities are still poor, are more likely to believe what they're told. Cognitive ability plays an important role in belief. And in Japan, where the Aum sect is gaining ground in the public arena, young people who have been pushed to the limit by the Japanese system of excellence are finding refuge in this sect. Because the system has crushed them, this sect has given them a helping hand at a time of profound fragility, a perfect opportunity for indoctrination.

Anxiety and fear are the result of the unknown , death is part of life and it exist , so accept it don’t fear it for it’s the only foreseen future and the only truth , dark isn’t evil but the lack of light , embrace death as life ! Believing or not is still good , as long as we always seek knowledge and broaden our intellect !
