its time to take on the lands between but this time as the light brings, that's right its time to see if we can beat Elden Ring with only Torches! It should be easy considering we are playing as the almighty soldier of Godrick, but we will find out.

Should have used the ghost flame torch as it has actually decent damage once you get to nocron to pick it up.

How did you ever forget about the Serpent Hunter's Spear-Torch? It's literally right there at the entrance!
Right! It's the most amazing torch in the whole game!
There is actually a 7th torch, the Torchpole though classified as a spear. But the Serpent Hunter's Spear must've been the 8th torch though classified as a greatspear.

There should really be an Ash of War that allows you to just hold the torch in front of you like those bloddy wandering nobles who insta dismount me somehow by just standing in the way with a torch

You really outdid yourself with this one. However, I do feel like not getting and using the Ghostflame Torch that has Frost buildup was a bit of a missed opportunity.

I'll be honest, torch doesn't seem like an inefficient weapon in concept.
Unfortunately, Fromsoft hates fun.
Edit: also, godrick is my second favorite demigod. Fun fact
it actually wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be, the regular torch might be, and I kinda regret not using it. but the steel wire one was …serviceable lol its just the lack of range + not having any thing like riposte/backstab/power stanced attacks limit it

If you want to make the giant fight easier, get the Sentry torch. Deals holy damage instead of fire.
ngl I pretty much tunnel visioned the steelwire torch lol, sentry and ghostflame would have been solid choices for some fights
At this rate your perfect challenge would be a run of "Madness only". Because either you'll be able to do it, or go mad trying.

Why didn't you use the Ghostflame Torch? It inflicts frost build up.
I forgot it excited for the most part haha, but I was trying not to use anything too strong, I even felt bad for how much damage the steelwire torch was doing near the end lol

ghostflame torch has magic damage and it comes with frost buildup, wouldve been useful for some bosses
True! I actually forgot that torch even existed until people started commenting on it lol, but they also say it has "decent" damage (comparatively), that combined with frost might have just been too strong :P

Gotta say, I love most of FromSoft games challenge runs, but yours are pretty unique in concepts and I love that. Basically high concept DnD characters lmao.

In general I think bosses with transformation phases (that have a cutscene and the bosses appearance changes) should have 2 healthbars, like godrick, maliketh, and godfrey. That would make the fights more challenging and more appreciative of their impact.

God imagine Malania phase 2 with 2 healthbars, I would be terrified
@@ravingtac0896 that's not what they said tho. Malenia changes appearance and gets a cutscene so she got a new healthbar. unlike Godfrey, Godrick, Fire Giant, and Maliketh who have to fight on life support after phase transition

I think i played terraria a little too much. 1% drop rate actually feels decent to me...
Though i could also be because i once grinded every covenant in dark souls 3 in offline mode. No, i don't recommend it, on the upside everything feels "not that bad" in comparison
I used to play wow and farm for mounts, so yes 1% is decent, I just had bad luck haha
I did the offline covenant farm twice, its definitely not worth it but had to get that 100% (twice) lol

I'm not even a completionist, but i had started ds3 without finishing it like 2-3 times before so it was basically a matter of honor at that point
I gave up on platinum-ing DS3 back then. Farming covenant items offline was painful. Almost as painful as farming magma blade in elden ring

pretty much same, I mean Hoarah Loux is okay, but I just think Godfrey is so much better. I wish we would have gotten a full health bar of Godfrey and at 50% he uses serosh, then a second full health bar for Hoarah Loux, would have felt much better imo
When Serosh started going solid, I thought he'd become a more active participant.
Like, some of Godfrey's combos would end with a serosh claw, and he'd have a roar that'd buff Godfrey and knock us back

I would have excused you if you used the ghostflame torch on godskin duo and fire giant honestly, maybe it would have even made rykard possible. Just use the old freeze and fire trick and you basically got a bleed build
I actually didn't realize the ghostflame torch did frost damage lol. I only wanted to sleep them because of the low damage, I wonder if ghost flame would have worked better...well, if I ever redo the run we will find out!
@@DoomWolfOfficial It's debatable actually, i think frost and bleed are calculated based on the health of the godskin you are hitting, not the overall healthbar of both. Still the burst damage might have helped speed it up.
Rykard on the other hand i don't know, with frost AND bleed he would most likely be doable, but with only one or the other the fight may still take too long even with max heals.
@@Markshadow4999 When I did bow only I remember doing rykard with frost and bleed arrows mostly, it was doable. but like you said with only one (especially if you have to deal with the lava), i'm not so sure.
@@DoomWolfOfficial oh yes, i remember. It's not the status damage i was talking about, more like the lava damage mixed with the occasional hit from rykard.
If you fight him in melee even with status you are on a timer, that's the main difference i was talking about.
@@Markshadow4999 oh true, in the thor video I was using a decent "" melee weapon but it was still obnoxious to constantly be hit by him + lava staggers lol

Every time I think I've seen every good elden ring challenge I end up finding something I never thought was possible. Just wow.
haha its really fun to run this game with random weapons, the only one that might be impossible is bare fists only. Its technically possible, because you do damage, but realistically very improbable ...which means one day I will probably try it lol

The Ghostflame Torch not only does frost buildup, it also deals magic damage instead of fire damage, which useful for bosses like Fire Giant and Mohg. Paring it with the other torches is also great because fire damage will remove the frostbite debuff instanty and allowing for another frost proc instead of having to wait for the debuff to wear off.
There's also the Torchpole, which is considered a spear-type weapon by the game, but is arguably also a torch.
I completely forgot about the Ghostflame torch during this run lol

Godfrey and Horoah Loux are just that good. I like Godfrey better because I like using colossal weapons so Horoah Loux is always on my ass.
They really are a great fight, that one and Radagon are probably my favorite in the whole game!
Fun fact the godskin noble belly thrust out is actually undodgeable within reason, it has like 7 startup frames
I don't remember if it was this video or not, but I did mention in one of them that it felt unreactable. I didn't use actual frame data, but years of playing smash bros gave me a feeling lol
