NYC in the 90s House scene. I was a regular at Nell's and the DJ KNEW as soon as he saw me what song I was waiting g to hear. I would walk up to him when I got there and he would say, "I didn't play it yet..." owwwww
Carlton, the underlying track is one of the most on point I’ve ever heard in my life. But I can’t get my head round the lyrics. I keep coming back to the vid praying that there’s some other way of interpreting those words but whichever way I cut it they just sound suspect af. I know other artists of that era did weird songs (like Bam Bam “where’s your child”) but that was more on the horror vibe. Am I hearing it wrong ?
@@jonmaze793 When this song came out it was played in the clubs. It was not a radio song. I’m not condoning any type of pedophilia, because I condemn it. It’s funny because my Father always taught me when he was alive to listen to the lyrics of a song, but when in the clubs, dancing to music, sometimes the meaning of the words fly over your head. I’m hoping that the meaning is a older man, and a legally aged younger woman. Not a child. Like a reverse cougar situation. As a Father of seven children, four of them girls I would not condone the harming of children, and I hope the artist of this song would not either. 🙏🏾
@@Mightyoverevery1 thanks for your feedback. I know what you mean about getting lost in some powerful music and not really paying any attention to the lyrics. Hearing the exaggerated voice my guess is that he’s just portraying the role of an evil villain like Bam Bam did in where’s your child and not actually advocating the things he’s talking about. I think they were only about 20 years old when they wrote this song so they were in that impressionable age bracket themselves. Google results seem to indicate that the lyrics are a quote from The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark.
@@jonmaze793 I consider myself a movie buff, but I never saw The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie until our conversation, and I must say what a great movie. Her Oscar was well deserved. The only other movie I ever saw Maggie Smith In was a comedy called Murder By Death. P.I.M.J.B. was definitely the movie that made her. If it wasn’t for our talk, I would have probably died some day, without seeing this gem. There is a God. Thank you. P.S, what was the line from the movie, that was used in the song Bang Bang ? I’ll have to watch it again. 👋🏾🎼🎬
Some mad vocals going on in here 👊

P.S. if you like this track you might also like “That Sound” (Vox Mix) by Ralph Falcon which I think samples this track.
