Erika looking like a rl Pikmin, i appreciate.
Typical soviet tataric pretending to be high society of European race 😂
I literally leave tomorrow for a week-long trip to Amsterdam so this video drop has absolutely perfect timing!!!
Have a stellar time.. and ride a bike!
Those little green leaves 🍃 ? Kawaii
getting out of the very center is definitely key, I agree tho the city is so beautiful but as someone that worked there briefly the crowds get annoying very quickly. Theres not really a time of year when its not busy, I guess its to be expected when its the capital and a tourism hot spot. But finding unique spots outside the center was also something I enjoyed doing. De 9 Straatjes is a nice spot to walk as well.
Reminds me I should check out more of my local gems too.
Amsterdam is nice but you need to do it on your own pace (in my case slow 😅). In the morning having breakfast (hotel or else) and around 10 o'clock visit a museum that you have interest in by reading up on the things on display.
Then around lunch (two hours in a museum is all I can take!) have a sandwich or pastry with a big coffee or orange juice (or both). Look at the map and figure what direction you want to "investigate".
This is my modus operandi every city trip. Museum, lunch, bonus walk with hidden gems? For me it works 🤠
yeah the cookie is definitely worth the wait its bangin
Once you get away from the Centraal station and the streams of tourists, it's a much better city. I like to visit the W139 gallery, San Seriffe, then Spui for more bookshops but there are some great places to visit further out too.
Zaandam, the town with the quirky hotel, is very nice looking and it's surely worth a visit. And then, 2 train stops further, there is Zaanse Schans, with beautiful windmills and lovely houses, some of them on canals. It's almost like a fairy tale place!
I went to Amsterdam for decades (business, not holiday) and always stayed there for some more days, because I loved the city so much. But since 10 years, I try to avoid it as good as I can. I do my business meetings and try to escape as quickly as I can. Quite sad, but that's how it is.
7:30 damn it, you just sold me on that cookie 😂 looks good! And surprising, considering "viral stuff" are usually overhyped items
It was incredible!!
I'm a simple man, I see you post a video. I drop everything and I come watch.
To me a lot of the canals are quite peaceful and calm.
Always love watching your videos!
Always look forward to an upload from Erika!
I wasn't going to try that cookie on my next trip because Murat from Follow my Travels said he wouln't wait in the long line for it, so i assumed it was just OK. But after your review I cant wait to try it
🍪Try it!! I did the pre-order online via their site and skipped the line. 🍪
@@cajundragon thanks … I might try that
@@godsgiftmaggot898 just checked their page, they moved their shop, and no longer do online ordering. They claim the wait should be shorter.
This video is so fascinating as always!
It's an interesting video, especially for the people who want to know Amsterdam, Thank you Erika for sharing this great video with me!
You are a lovely cookie monster
You always crack me up!
Love your videos :)
Hi Erika! Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll be bumping in Amsterdam for 2 days next week, will definitely visit those places you have mentioned.
I've realize that I want to thank you for two things, or one. I'm not so sure. Thanks for making videos so as you are, and also for been such as you are.
Straat 🎨 art museum in NDSM. Take the free GVB ferry to Noord. It isn't as chaotic as the center there plus some cool markets and cafes.
I’ve only been to Amsterdam a few times but I absolutely love Noord, the vibes are great, it’s more peaceful and getting the ferry is kinda fun
Erika come visit Delft!! I am a big fan and would love to show you around. Maybe you can go on yourself if you think its weird xD, but come visit Delft
That cheese “museum” looked awfully like a cheese shop that decided it would get more visitors if it called itself a “museum” instead. Which is honestly not a bad idea. I’ve been to shops with enough interesting merchandise that they might as well be museums, with the added bonus that if you really like something you can buy it and take it home.
Thank you for the video!
I hoarded Tony's when I was in Vienna, not many non-domestically made chocolates in Norway :(
I am stunned that Tony’s Chocolonely had a 30 minute line! We went there a few months ago and walked right in.
Sad they don't have the cafe anymore. Think I'll bypass. grr
"Catvertising"
erikaa, there is something growth in your head 😂😂
At least it wasn't cat-astrophic. My first time in Netherlands last year, locals were urging me to visit Rotterdam, so I'll check it out this year.
Otherwise, those little leaves were too cute!
Erikkaaaaaa🎉❤🎉❤ you are awesome❗
Thanks, Erika.
such a good video
Love your voice, love your hair
You had me a cheese museum!
those cookies look amazing
If you are looking for an echo chamber, I am the right comment. I am a New Yorker and staying in Amsterdam seems like if I were forced to stay in Times Square. Ugh, no thanks.
Yes, there is legitimate amazing stuff to do and see in Amsterdam, but it was the low point of my vacation there. Zanse Schaans (epitome of tourist trap), Miuderslot, Haarlem, Den Bosch, and Efteling were so much more "real" and fun.
Also, the entire country is roughly the same size as the New York metropolitan area.
Best video ever 🎉
The train station to other parts of the country is a real hidden gem.😅
you got amsterdamed
The Cheese Museum was great! I love cheese!
A'dam has a lot of hidden gems.
Bu the best option overall is to visit any other city in The Netherlands.
Utrecht is a nice start.
The best part of Amsterdam is any train that goes outside of Amsterdam.
it seems like everywhere you go is expensive.. i suspect nothing will get cheap in the next coming years and decade.
Nice video.
Not many places in NY are that foot traffic friendly. I liked Amsterdam, like parts of Tokyo, with nicer/quirky-er architechture. and its much more flatter, walkable and compact. but if you think Amsterdam is crowded, you'll have a much harder time in Tokyo.
great video! where about is this weird looking hotel?
Erika, you're so pretty! I'm having gay panic
And ur videos are very helpful too
Amsterdam used to be a nice and interesting old Dutch city. But because large numbers of people have it on their bucket list, it's completely ruined. I stopped visiting Amsterdam years ago and live 25 miles away because I was yelled at by idiotic tourists who think they have some godforsaken right to be there.
I live in Amsterdam and some parts of the city center are absolutly horrible. But I still think Amsterdam is a great city. To get a good view of the city you should go out of the city center. There are still a lot of beautiful historical buildings there and it is way less crowded.
If you want yo stay in the city center though. I feel like the eastern part of the city center is less touristy. I would suggest to visit Artis and the Hortus botanicus and just that general area. It is very green there. There are also two amazing museums right next to Artis that not many people know about.
Good video.
Imagine working in a hot office building for years. Like in the movie Office space or The matrix. Imagine the highlight of your day is lunch. Imagine you have to commute for an hour in heavy traffic every day. Imagine you get 2 weeks off a year. Now take a trip to amsterdam. Its all about perspective.
Have you been to Delft by any chance?

Amsterdam seems like it sucks lol
Go visit Broek in Waterland if you want peace!
Weird girl. I like your videos
Erika, are you Dutch or German?
❤️ YOOOO! Nice video!!! I’m a Small Struggling Travel Channel and you really inspire me to make better content 😌 Thank you!

Edit: I love it 🥰
@7:46 why's there a sign in Chinese?
Zeedijk ( street name ) is where the Amsterdam China Town .
🙂
4:34 you mean catvertisements*
of of ??
4:36 catvertisements???
You should visit Amsterdam outside the center, go do De Pijp neighborhood
We went a couple months ago and went to the street markets and had the best more affordable food parking was 50 euros plus another 30 diffrent spot and we got honked at a lot for letting people walk by 🤣 not a fan
Ya, don't do Amsterdam, or any big city really, with a car. Park the car on the outside at P+R parkings, 6e, and take the tram or train or metro to Central Station.
Bagels are supposed to be chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. Some research might be helpful to you next time
Guten Abend
Erika, these places are not hidden and far from being gems… Amsterdam becomes really good when you go a bit further from Centraal
i grew up in Amsterdam. The city is INSANELY overrated. Even if we remove all the tourists and muslims immigrants, it would be still insanely chaotic and overrated. It pains me to say but Utrecht has 1,000% more character than Amsterdam.
Are there really that much muslims in Europe?
@@solarpowerfxin the big cities, yes. I was in Belgium 2 weeks ago and in Brussels, basically 70% of people are non-Belgian. In my homecountry Austria, we already have whole schools in our capital city with 99% non-Austrian kids. Europeans just aren't having enough kids themselves any more.
How long would you say it would take to walk across Amsterdam? From one end of the city to the other ? I plan on visiting .
@@NoctLightCloudbut it's not because is inevitable and import people from different cultures dont work.
@@NoctLightCloud I don't know why these devoted muslims go to western countries and not Saudi Arabia or something if they after money or work
Loved it
You hate a city because its chaotic? thats what cities are. Paris that is what you call chaotic.
Maybe it are the Muslim immigrants she mentions she doesn't like (in which case she should avoid Paris even more!).
Greeting sfrom china
Thanks so much 👍
