- Like Magnaboss I've had thing team since they were relased in 1997. Infact I remember finding them both in Toy R Us at the same time. Of the two set this one is a little more unique.
Two of the figures I really like since they are simple but nifty. The third however is a royal pain in the @$$. The reason is due to the way that he transforms to form the arms of the combined mode

CZcams just recommended this video to me and it gave me nostalgic flashbacks to getting this guy for Christmas one year as a kid :D thanks for the fond memories. I forgot this guy even existed... I unfortunately don't own him anymore either.

Design wise, I can see where Infernocus came from.
If they added some new articulation to this guy, he'd definitely be able to stand up to today's figures in terms of sheer AWESOME.

I know this is an old vid and you've probably heard this before, but you made a couple minor mistakes. The claws on Seaclamp can be used in robot mode as a weapon. The shoulders from Ramhorns beetle form are actually meant to be folded forward into a chest piece for his robot mode, makes him look so much better. Lastly, Seaclamps lower section is meant to plug into the back of Cicadacon to keep it up out of the way, though this does make him a little more top heavy and it can be folded down in order to help with stability.

I use to have this figure too, but, much like Magnaboss, I don't know what happen to them.
And, I too had the same problem when I had Tripredicus, turning Ramhorn into the arms was easy, changing them back was near impossible. But then again I was about 7-8 when my parents bought the figure.
When I was younger I had this set and I remember the pain that ramhorn was that I NEVER did anything with it. So it's nice to see someone that knows my pain
This set is beautiful and just amazing! Hope to own it someday.

I always imagined they wanted to make the lobster a scorpion, but Scorponok was already taken. Three bugs made a little more sense than two bugs and a shellfish.
I wwould always try to figure them out without using instructions when i was younger and i just couldnt figure out how to get them combined. Cool set love the combining ones.

You miss transform ranhorm, the beetle head shell suppose to fold to the torso to form the chest and he will be more proportion

Remember having this as a child. I loved Seaclaw, vaguely recall Cicadacon and must have completely blanked on Ramhorn because he was too complicated for me to transform into Tripredacus' arms.

I got mine 2nd hand with no instructions. So I got to figure all of this out on my own when I was 12.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Ramhorn's mouth actually being articulated.
You're also supposed to rotate Sea Clamp's legs and tail up and plug them into his back. Sea Clamp's feet then form a nice little pair of lapels for Trip's head.

I'm curious why you think that, I freakin LOVE Beast Wars. It was pretty much the first time a whole line of transformers were at least decently posable, they still match or outdo RotF figures. Do you dislike the animal aesthetic?

Seems like Tripredicus figures have easy transformations into robots modes.
i still have this guy and magnaboss and all the pieces, but on both of them crucial tabs have broken off and they no longer hold together :(

Awesome Review of the Tripredacus the only thing I have to say is the Third Boy the Beetle his Thorax actually is to Form like a Chest Plate for him in Robot Mode.
7:07 At one point, baltmatrix explained the context for what was happening here using a very old CZcams feature called "annotations." However, CZcams removed annotations several years ago, so as a long-time fan of baltmatrix, I'll explain the context myself. Basically, his cat got stuck behind some Super Sentai figures and couldn't get out.

Well, a lot of people didn't like the skin in robot mode. The beast wars versions barely resemble robots at all. It was less the realistic animal modes, and more the abominations like Tripredicus that annoyed me. Actually, if they redid beast wars with metal designs similar to the dinobots, I think it would be perfect.
they actually did make more robotic versions of primal and megatron.
granted, they aren't the best figures but hey megatron got a more show-accurate shape than his original figure did.

Better combiner than Magnaboss. Each member makes up a large proportion of Tripredicus, unlike Magnaboss, who was 70% Ironhide.
I think they always looked like that. It always looked like the color of bug wings to me.
I had this toy. It was impossible to put together so invade up after 100 times trying to put it together into tripredicus

I honestly think for a combiner this has great posability. It may have a hard time keeping a pose, but it kicks any combiner wars gestals ass.

+Jetfire48 Its littered with ball joints. Its far more posable than something like Superion which has huge gaps in its ratchets and no ankle movement. Tripred's problem is it cant really support itself once it gets in a pose.
