    This is a great tutorial thank you. I found all of it useful but two elements stand out. I work in a role where budget control is less of a priority so that was very useful to learn. However the most interesting point was around building a schedule. I have seen very experienced project managers being able to build these out of pure knowledge and experience. Something quite daunting for a beginner. Your statement about getting everyone involved and that you shouldnt be in the weeds of the activities is very comforting and something i will be taking away with me. Thank you!

    • @Psoda
      @Psoda  Před 4 lety

      Hi Leighton, that you so much for your lovely comment. We really appreciate it! Schedule building is always an interesting challenge and I also used to get intimidated by project managers who appeared to conjure them out of thin air. It took me a while to realise that the PMs that involved everyone tended to be more successful than those who didn't. :-)

    • @Psoda
      @Psoda  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Vinod, thanks for the question. From my understanding Global Product Development Process is a set of guiding principles and best practices rather than a set of rules, methods and standard processes so it doesn't meet the definition of a methodology. Unless your organisation has taken it a step further and built it's own set of rules, standard processes, framework etc. which would make it an organisation specific GPD methodology. I hope that makes sense :-)

    Hello, Great video. I am working on updating a course outline, I am university professor teaching System Analysis and Design course, which the course has a section on project management. I like your presentation and would like use in the course outline. Can I have your approval to use your video in my course?

    D: Risk of Project Manager dropping dead...

    • @nowhereman5119
      @nowhereman5119 Před 4 lety +1

      Or better still - project manager leaving! I have joined in on projects midway because the previous project manager left at very short notice (to a better job!) - and until a new one is appointed, I have to be the care-taker. Not an easy task looking around the shared drive for correspondence, meeting minutes, interim reports - and then coming up to speed on them!! And having to explain the client that there has been a change in management - which may cause a delay - but re-assuring that everything will still be fine.

      I actually know a project where it happened, which is why we included it.

    Sorry but don't like your video coz
    (1) You talk very fast
    (2) It looks like you are reading from some papers
    (3) I am not used to your accent, so I can't keep my concentration
    (4) The graphics are also moving fast and it is kind of hard to keep track what you say and keep looking graphics
