    I like the toning on that 1943 P @9:32. That's the kind of toning I really like the best for some reason..... Very eye appealing. This is obviously just my opinion, but I don't like when coins are super saturated with solid blue, red, purple, etc. to the point when it looks like they f'd with it.

      When a C is followed by an E it changes the C to a soft one. For example, some coin sets come in cellophane instead of a box.
      It's also changes to a soft C when followed by a I and a Y with very few exceptions.
      Have a great day Numisman. 🙂

      @@tateridsdale4251 you need to reach out to more people. Visit a few dealers, get a feel for the dealer and see if you find one that you feel good about. Just take 1 or 2 coins into the dealer, just to feel them out. Then assess all of the data that you've collected, and sell one or two of them. If you have no job, you gotta start making moves. You can't take the coins to the grave & you're not guaranteed to survive today, so you may as well push the envelope and try to make a few bucks off of something that worst case scenario has a face value.

      El "FS" representa a Felix Schlag que diseñó la moneda. Aparece en todos los nickels de Jefferson.

      Wll for varierties and rare coins - I'd advise to get them graded and then consign to public auction. You could always sell them yourself online as well.

    -1961 with all key dates gone except an 1939 D in my guessed. Not wear but unattractive toned and dirty like a window in old barn. Anyway I was thrilled when hot $25 from friend who owns coin shop to the 1939 each book had one along with one in each reverse spot at beginning of book along with 7 others in 2 x 2’s all 5 steps or very close must have had an roll. I did find one I’m sure has doubling on Monticello but all the ones I’ve looked up a blind person could read Brazil on the doubling. Noticed first on the O inside lift then the L’s-looked like wearing platforms. Is value in the grade, the actual doubling or both combined. Saw the one sold at PCGS auction for over $4,400 in MS57 FS. Mine has FS with only one ding hitting seeps about 3/4 to right of steps. I am no grader but can see almost complete luster over entire coin with one tiny spot I was told in the past was from a stream or water spot. Not dark and didn’t notice until I put under microscope. I just got a scope for very old laptop I’m hoping will turn out clear. Needs to be because on all lettering but only a very tiny amount. Thank you for any ideas. Also I have dealt with NGC mostly in past so if the event it’s worth having looked at, would it be best to use one or the other if my intent will be to sell. I love coins but not into something worth an amount no one but me would appreciate.

    • @worldnumismaticnews
      @worldnumismaticnews  Před 6 lety

      Nice. The value will depend on both the grade and variety combined. The variety makes it noteworthy then the grade will affect the price as well. Let me know how things turn out.
