    Yep, crash bars gave me a good confidence boost. Yep, went down and rode away with minor scratches on the bars and ZERO damage to the expensive parts. 👍🏼

      I agree, but I did the same thing with crashbars from Motea :-) Hopefully insurance will cover it if you fall hard and crack your motor.

      I was thinking that too but I'm pretty sure that yamaha crash bars connect to one or both of these spots. Obviously a steel frame and an aluminum motor aren't quite the same thing but technically the motor is designed to be some what of a structural part of the bike. That being said, I felt much better about bolting my Tusk bars to the frame of the old KLR haha.

    So torques settings. We using just the bikes default settings right? Dunno where I read that torque settings should be like 10-20% lower from factory bike settings when using stuff like crash bars/frame sliders. Since they are kinda like acting washers...or am I just understanding this all wrong?

    Don't forget, you paid $10,000 for the bike. I hope you're getting all of your accessories for free. Which would make sense if you're a CZcams. As a courtesy, you should have a running list of all the items you added and their cost. I hope that the average guy is smarter than this. Never purchase a NEW bike. Buy a bike a few years old. One that some other guy bought, added all the extras too , put a few miles on it and fell into the CZcams trap of seeing all these new bikes, and they sell what they just built thousands less than new. Case in point. I just picked up a2018 triumph tiger 1200. XCA . Loaded, panniers and all. 7400 miles for $12500. The kat here will hit that price point soon. If he didn't already. And the triumph is a much much better bike. Stay educated people.

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  Před 3 lety +3

      If I didn't know better I'd say you sound a tad jealous Jim... Lol. I totally agree though, buying any vehicle brand new is never a good move financially, even with 0% interest your still better off buying used. But there are plenty of people out there who make more than enough money to buy brand new bikes, cars or snowmobiles every year and couldn't care less about the premium they're forking over just for them to be new. It seems silly to guys like us but If you can do that and it makes you happy, why not? Better for the rest of us! I've said several times I've never bought anything new until this bike and never would have if it wasn't for the channel. Even with the $10,000 price tag it seems to have been a good decision so far, the way things are going the bike will have paid for itself though ad revenue in a little more than a year. All that being said, I think the Tenere is actually very reasonably priced for what it offers, especially when you consider what a Tiger or even a KLR costs brand new. I'm glad to hear your happy with your Tiger, but to be honest I'd take my bike over my dad's any day and it sounds like he feels the same and will be getting a Tenere next year. Even his 800 seems overly top heavy and not very capable off road compared to the Tenere. He's also had some issues with his not wanting to start and making some odd engine noises, which is supposedly common...but for a bike that costs well over 10k, it's not exactly confidence inspiring. Due to both of those issues he's opted to take his other bikes on long trips over the Tiger on at least 5 occasions which is kinda sad considering it's the most expensive one in his garage haha.
