Interesting question, in summary, both berberine and fiber can contribute to better glucose metabolism. While berberine directly affects insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake thru a critical enzyme AMPK, fiber helps regulate blood sugar levels by slowing down digestion and promoting satiety. Incorporating both into one's diet may offer synergistic benefits.

Fasting blood sugar before starting was 8.2 - 8.6 before lunch and dinner. For the last 10 weeks my fasting blood sugar before lunch and dinner has been 6.2 - 6.7. Tomorrow large blood panel at my GP's. I couldn't tolerate Berberin HCL, but dihydroberberine is just fine.

  • @stefanweilhartner4415

i think for keeping the blood sugar low and to lose some weight, the fiber is a good idea to combine it with a protein shake. if it is the right fiber mixture, it gives you an instant feeling of satiety that not every protein shake does when taken without fiber.

Like wow! If that doesn't indicate a poor diet I don't know what would.

I take berberine every day. Also psilium husk that I mix in with whey protein, creatine and collagen peptides. I am into all this and take about a dozen supplements in all. Berberine definitely helps me lose weight. I think it reduces my appetite to some degree. I eat a lot of high fiber, low carb tortillas. Do these things actually work? Or the products marketed as "net carbs?" Well, I can recommend berberine personally but with one warning: don't buy it in powder form. The taste is overpowering, like witchroot. In pill form you will never notice it.
