@@GabrielleP310the song was really popular when it first came out in 2001 but recently a new movie called saltburn came out and this song was in the movie which made it chart again ❤
Driving to gym last night, listening to a bit of local Raleigh Top 40/CHR radio, and a bumper comes on that says, "here's what's trending in the Triangle...Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Murder on the Dancefloor..." and I'm thinking to myself, "what the hell just happened? Have a fallen through a time portal and landed back in the year 2001?"
Loved it since ‘01 as well and have been playing it in my DJ sets since 2013. Before Saltburn, younger ppl would be ask what song is this?! at my sets lol
I am so glad they played her song murder on the dance floor because now I’m listening to so many other songs she’s made and she’s truly amazing and talented!!
This song brought so many good memories to a 30-something guy here in Indonesia!😂 used to be a teen when this song smashed worldwide for the first time.
Omg I remember her songs back in early 2000s on MTV. Those were the days. Now she's getting 2nd of wind of fame after 20+ years. This just shows that fashion and other things can comeback years later👍👍👍
Murder on the dancefloor was a hit when I was on primary school. Would be really excited when the clip came on before school on mtv. And now I'm gonna see her live 3rd of march!
The song deserves it. I loved it being a hidden gem in my childhood that I could show people to impress them with my music taste 😅 but so happy that she's getting the attention she deserves now
She was part of an 80s concert I was at last year in Dublin. She stole the show. Elegant, beautiful, entertaining and talented. Random, but it was a really sunny day and the whole time I was worried she'd get sun burnt. She's an actual milk bottle.
People like Sophie are a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other women in the music industry. She's so honest, pure, wonderful and beautiful. Compare her to other women of the same musical era like Cheryl Cole and Sophie is like a saint. She loves her craft, takes pleasure in it and does it fantastically.
I like to think that Murder on the Dance Floor is actually Sophie Ellis Bexter trying to tell us that she is a manipulative evil genius who once blagged her way onto a troubled family's estate and strategically turned them on each other and killed them all to inherit the estate, through a song... Which a screenwriter then heard and wrongly thought "I know these lyrics are metaphorical but what if I made them literal!" all the while having no idea that it all already was lol
Great song!! She still looks amazing!!
What a beautiful soul. I’m thrilled for Sophie Ellis-Bextor. ✨
I’ve never heard of this song nor seen the movie‼️ Is this a special song or something⁉️I’m 32 and seemingly living under a rock.
Yeah European beauty

That song was the perfect ending of Saltburn
The only reason it could fit is because of some of the lyrics, the whole feel and vibe of that song doesn't fit with the film
@@conornaughton4732 I would say it does. The film doesn't take itself too seriously.
He danced to it exquisitely
she’s so cute still to this day
She's so beautiful
Man she’s beautiful
She really is

In love with this song since 2001, my first year at University
That sounds like an incredible time ✨
@@Wxtst.3 I started college in 2001, too. Being a kid in the '80s, a teen in the '90s and a college student in the early 2000s was a lot of fun.
@@Texaslawhorn Wow those are the years I wish I was older to remember 🥹
