Wow!! I can tell you're not an amateur at this. I once ordered yam mini sets from the University of Ibadan (leading researchers in the field). I was mind blown how much work they have put into the studies. Unfortunately, US customs siezed my yams mini sets 😂
Thank you so much for sharing such amazing knowledge. I'll be getting down to growung my yams now.

Very nice and well done dear princess, I want to know is it staple food of your area? As in our country we like bread made from wheat flour we eat every thing with this bread.
Yes, you are right Prof, this is our staple food. We eat it morning and afternoon everyday in different forms. We also make snacks out of it. Stores for months as well. Oh yes just as you eat different foods made of wheat. Thanks for being here.
Well done my sister how do you mean the cut side upward?
Place the skin to touch the soil and the cut side will be upwards.. I hope this heps.
Great Job. Please how long will take to get the seedlings through process?
Ready for harvest in six to seven months. Nedds watering, fertilising and proper staking to ensure this.
Can I still eat the yam after it starts sprouting? The vine is now about 2 feet long.
Yes just cut off about and peel. If it's still white/yellowish inside it's safe to eat.
The cut yams will come out a full yam?
Yes a full yam seedling Here is what we call yam seedling czcams.com/video/jlgC6JEm5Ak/video.html
Is this process for land or for bags?
Both
Both, this is preparation of the yam cuttings, you may plant in the land directly or in bags.
EDIT: Watch the yam I harvested here czcams.com/video/jlgC6JEm5Ak/video.html
But why should it be up to ten months to mature?
Yams are ready for harvest in seven months but will grow bigger the longer it's left in the soil while tthe leaves are still green.
Oxines and geberelins. Is this spellings correct?
Auxins and gibberellins.
This yam setts of matches box size can't really produce bigger tuber. You have to increase the yam seeds or setts if you want bigger tuber.
Oh yes that's exactly the topic of this video. I'm trying to grow yam seedlings. These sets are the perfect size for that. In fact I have successfully harvested my yam seedling four days ago. I'll post video in a few days.
@@LiliansGardens fantastic! I can't wait to see the harvested seedlings.
Weldone!
