Johnny Cash fought his own demons with drugs, so that would partly explain why he could cover this song so well.

The floss analogy is HILARIOUS!!! I have seen him live 3 times. He IS a total creep 😂 First time I went I was terrified of him. We were down front, and he just kind of lurches all over the stage, and looks right into your face. Like he is going to eat your soul 😈😆 But the live show is really cool and most definitely a sight to behold.

the cover of this song by johnny cash is amazing. part blues, part country, with some rock, soul, bluegrass, doing a song made famous by a new wave band. it sits at the crossroads of so many genres its a must-listen track.

i'll say it a million times. The way Lex describes things is AMAZING. As a huge Marilyn Manson fan, YES! That "nasty," "icky", gritty, grimy quality is EVERYTHING.
I think she'd like his "Golden Age Of Grotesque" album. It has a similar vibe to this song. Especially "This Is The New Shit" and "Doll-Dagga-Buzz-Buzz-Ziggedy-Zag".

Everyone always mentions tainted love and personal Jesus but Mansons best cover is I PUT A SPELL ON YOU!!! Definitely some industrial vibes in some of his music especially the stuff Trent Reznor produced before they fell out.

In Europe we consider Manson (and Nine Inch Nails too) INDUSTRIAL, but Americans seem to categorize them under NuMetal, I noticed. For some *serious* INDUSTRIAL music though, try :WUMPSCUT: (Black Death French Concept is a good start) or IMMINENT STARVATION (Tentack One for instance).

30 min after a soft alarm I like "Chick n Stu" by System of a Down for a Hard alarm.
Soft tunes to help slowly wake up and the hard one to get you amped and moving.

sweet Dreams, Personal Jesus, and Tainted Love are all covers he does of other bands. The music riffs all come from Depeche Mode. While this is heavy hitting, it just doesn't have the same emotion as Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode singer) had as Manson isn't personally connected to the words.
