For anyone wondering their vocalist has a new band called Headcave
has anyone else notices that there seems to be a huge Nu-Metal influence on a lot of the newer releases from "core" bands, especially "Risecore" style ones? Not saying its a bad thing, I just think its kind of funny how everyone has been shitting all over nu metal for the longest time, and how many people still do, yet its making a sort of comeback now.
Personally, I actually love some of the heavy grooves from Nu-Metal bands like Korn and Soulfly and Slipknot so I'm glad to see that kind of riffage return.
it's really just everyone cashing in on the trends. Nu-metal is making a comeback, and none of the bands on rise have any fucking integrity, so they'll completely change their style and image to stay relevant. DISCLAIMER: I like new MTH way better and I'm glad they jumped ship.

If this isn't nu-metal influenced I don't know what is. Fine by me. I grew up in the late 90's listening to it all the time. The 3 bands you mentioned are 3 of my all time favorites.
I personally love nu metal influences in music and this is the reason that makes me love this band a lot!

@Aaron Ceravolo Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure they split. That having been said, the lead singer, Nick Guimenti, is in another band now, called Headcave. They only have a few songs out, but if you wanna hear some more of his screaming, you can find him there. I'm not sure what happened to Headcave, but I'm hoping they'll release some more sometime soon

This album is absolutely amazing. Nobody knows this even dropped. I got to see them at a church in NJ during this time period. The other venues around my area were too big for them. They played with all the locals but damn was that night crazy 😭

Well the slipknot comes from the raw tone of the vocals (for me anyways). The rage against the machine is the roundwound guitar scratches and of course nirvana, look at the singer XD

This band is by far one of the best of their genre right now. Rise should really be pushing the fact that they have MTH on their label, since the band is doing the hardcore genre a great justice.

I hear Rage Against the Machine influences, especially when the guitars sounds like something Tom Morello would write. And i'm mostly referring to the use of the kill switch on the guitar. Even the rest too though. Idk.
