Wow, thee series of videos were really great. I feel like I have a good understanding of the basics, and I am ready to kick some ass. Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this.
Thank you so much for creating these videos! You saved my husband from having to read that ridiculously long and boring rule book... :-) thanks again! very helpful!
I just want you to know that thanks to you, 4 people in Caracas, Venezuela, have a very good idea of how to play this game (edition 41)... We try to understand it with the instructions book and we were like "whaaaat??"...... Thank you so very much !!!!
I have always liked board games, here in Argentina we use to play "TEG (Yetem)". Then I found out about "Axies & Allies" and played the PC game... AWESOME!!! playing it with real mini tanks and a giant board must be super cool. I love video games too, but this is a lot better. Thanks for the video.
1. The only sea unit that can attack land units is a battleship (or a cruiser in other editions) during an amphibious landing. Each battleship (or cruiser) gets a bombardment if it is in the same space as the transport ships. This bombardment (if it hits) destroys 1 land unit of the enemy's choosing. 2. Nope, no limit 3. No, all attacking units must be sent in before conducting combat. You then must wait until your next turn to send in more units if you fail to take a territory
thank you I had this game since last Christmas and I been trying to play but way to confusing but with your help I can now play but the purches step if u buy a sub were do u place it? any were or close to factories?
Thanks a lot for the videos. I'm a beginner trying to learn how to play it and your videos are very very helpful. if it's not too much to ask would you mind make a video of you playing one turn with an axis power like germany or japan. just to give an example of how the game is played with combat moves (attack and defense). it seems that you have all axis & allies editions. which one is your favorite? best regards.
Thanks for the videos! I've got the 1942 edition, and my son and I are learning the game. Question on transports: As a combat move I would like to load some infantry onto a transport and then move the transport to a sea zone two zones away to take part in an amphibious assault, offloading the infantry into a coastal territory. The Unit Profile says: Loading onto and/or offloading from a transport counts as a land unit’s entire move; it cannot move before loading or after offloading." ???
Started to form a group, currently have someone with experience and Someone who has a copy of one edition as well as me (Complete and total newcomer.). Thanks for the videos, I imagine they'll be helpful. Just thought I'd ask for clarification of something you mentioned here. If you're a Brit (for example), would I have to land a fighter in a British country, or could I land it in any allied nation?
just got 1942 2nd edition. It seems a little more in depth, but very similar to this one. Which is your favorite country to play as? thanks for the videos
Submerging lasts until the end of combat. Subs can be in the same territory as enemy ships without being forced to fight (unless there is a destroyer). You can, however, submerge again as soon as you are attacked again.
Hey are you going to make any videos on strategy for the D day edition, I'm not a good player at dday and there aren't much strategies out there for it so it would be much appreciated if you could!
Hey man, nice explanation! I have gone through all the videos in this series. I would like to know where is your accent from because you sound crystal clear to me. I am from Brazil, by the way.
Great video, lots of help. Couple questions though; 1. Can sea units attack land units? 2. Is there a limit to the amount of units in one country? 3. Can you attack a county in waves? (Can I send in infantry first then attack with tanks on the same turn) Thanks
I once crashed the old computer game version by editing my units to make them all cost one then getting the technology that made all my units cost one less....
I am new to Axis and Allies and I have purchased the 1942 2nd Edition. My question is if 2 subs were doing combat, do either of them have the option to submerge or do they keep each other from doing so
What is the difference between the 1941 edition and the 1942 edition, because I have never played before and just got the 1942 edition. Should I keep it and try to learn how to play or trade it in for the 1941 edition?
I just wanted to say, it isn't a big deal but the first thing you talked about in this video was about the submarines "submerging" and that was actually talked about in the other videos too. (It was like part 3 I think.) Again, not a big deal but I thought I'd through that out.
Glad they changed the rule about reducing factory IPC values instead of taking it out of cash on hand. Those bombers were expensive and it sucked losing them to lucky AA shots just to raid the players cash stores.
About the capital capturing. What if you have like 20 IPC or something and they also have 20 or some high amount of IPC, and then you have so much money there isn't a space high enough to put your money marker on the board?
What if one of the Axis powers take a territory from one of my allies, and I am able to liberate that territory, do I then receive the IPC value? Like if Japan takes Szechwan from USA, but I as the British from India take liberate it from the Japanese, do I get that IPC value or do I have to given it back to USA? Thanks!
if you have multiple units atacking someone how do you know which one of your units is hit first by the defender and how do you know wich defender is hit first by you also how many units can fit on a transport ship
If you have a tank attacking 3 in finery how does that work out because let's say that one of the infantry defends and rolls a 2 , would my tank die ? Because I don't think one infantry man could take out a tank ?
Brandon Sugden Each unit rolls one die and can take one hot (less Battleships who can take two hits). If fighting 1 vs 1 the infantry can kill the tank. But it is more lkely that the tank wins. You normally keep tanks with infantry, adding punch to infantry in attack and infantry to take some losses.
Hey I am a first time player. There is too many extra pieces so when I was playing as Germany I ran out of tank pieces setting up before the game even began, if I want to buy more what do I do?
what you should do is try to even out the chips between counrties and make a lot of attacks with Germany/Russia, this will free up most of the chips. Or just hope your tanks die.
WOW, okay so after watching all of your videos to learn about the game. You keep referring to this game as "watered down" and "for beginners" and even in this video go into a rant about the other editions. One thing I still have a questions on is the amphibious assaults? You didn't cover this in any of your videos. Not to mention the transport ships being moving with troops.
If the US is in control of their capital, it becomes a US territory again. If the Washington is controlled by Japan or Germany, you get the IPC value for that territory.
As a new player, I found your videos very helpful. Thank you!

Thanks man. Just got this game in 2019 and these videos were so helpful!
Thank you for making these!!! Very helpful

Thank you sssooooo much!!! You have earned 1 more sub

Thanks a bunch, going to play it later tonight. And one last question, can air units attack non-submerged submarines? Im a little confused about that.
Thanks alot for the video. It really helped. But what about blitzs and amphibious assaults? Please answer soon when you can.

Also a suggestion maybe you should post some vids about 1941 strategy... I didn't see any
I am new to Axis and Allies and I have purchased the 1942 2nd Edition. My question is if 2 subs were doing combat, do either of them have the option to submerge or do they keep each other from doing so

i am a new player, soo can a navy army for example a battle ship combats with a tank ?
One question, if a submarine hit a battleship, the next hit is another time the submarine??
What about amphibious assaults?

the money marker shows how much you collect per turn. you keep track of how much money you have by hand.

All sea units must be placed on sea zones adjacent to a land space with a factory you control
if you have multiple units atacking someone how do you know which one of your units is hit first by the defender and how do you know wich defender is hit first by you also how many units can fit on a transport ship
I think you can choose who the hits are given to
how do you attack and defend
Where does teamwork come into play
If you have a tank attacking 3 in finery how does that work out because let's say that one of the infantry defends and rolls a 2 , would my tank die ? Because I don't think one infantry man could take out a tank ?
Brandon Sugden Each unit rolls one die and can take one hot (less Battleships who can take two hits). If fighting 1 vs 1 the infantry can kill the tank. But it is more lkely that the tank wins. Yup, only the destroyer prevents subs from submerging
How long can you submerge
Actually I apologize, there is no bombardment in this version, so the answer to question #1 is no. My bad
When a sub attacks another sub can the defending sub submerg
I bought this game and it only comes with 4 dice.. im confused? can you please help lol
WOW, okay so after watching all of your videos to learn about the game. Wait, never mind I got it now
Also you must conduct any navel combat before landing troops.
Correction, not enough pieces**
If the US is in control of their capital, it becomes a US territory again. If the Washington is controlled by Japan or Germany, you get the IPC value for that territory.
Meant to say, not enough pieces***
am a new player too, and you helped a lot. the instructions are worthless/the rule book
3:43 long time yes: reading the manual about it takes less time...
O
