  • Maui, Hawaii, is a special place full of stories that have mostly stayed on the Island. Today, we're meeting up with a local who goes below the surface to give us a view into the culture and lifestyle of those living on an Island that is unknown to most of us.

Hey Peter, I'm so glad you are doing the Hawaiian series. I watched a YT vid about a cruise ship that travels within the islands and it talks about the crew. I don't believe there is any historical value to the video, but I was surprised to learn that people would spend the money to cruise inter-island. I was saddened by the fire that hit Lahaina, especially all the historic buildings that were lost. There is new growth on the damaged Banyan Trees, it looks like they will make a complete recovery. I live in MA but have vacationed in HI.

I feel their pain. we have people in this world that could careless about doing the right things in life. Wouldn't it be nice if we the people had a way meaning ''us'' stay in control of these important things in our lives. There's more of us and we as a team should come together to better handle and control our most important things. We have a democrat and a republican party manipulating everything and they are all making more money than they should be. George Soros and others should be stopped!! We know they have a master plan to take all they can leaving the rest of us in the gutter's.

Maybe I'm missing something here. In the last year I've heard nothing but bats#it crazy, far-right conspiracy theories claiming that these rich liberals want to steal the land in hawaii from native Hawaiians. But apparently no one can get around the 99 year land lease agreements. That's the one important detail all these far-right nut jobs seem to leave out.

But watching Peter's videos made me realize that I'm surrounded by interesting people communities I know very little about. A few blocks this way and a few miles that way. Filled with exceptional people living lives very different from mine. Peter has encouraged me to start speaking to who I used to think of as strangers, but now think of as characters in my very own video. They're waiting to tell me things I've never even imagined. When my boyfriend and I were out fishing between Maui and Lanai, we accidentally hooked a whale, probably on a barnacle. The whale pulled our boat backwards until my boyfriend was able to unhook us. Then the whale spy hopped in front of the boat, checking us out. We bowed in apology. My boyfriend was so overcome, that he proposed to me. I should have figured out that the whale pulled us backwards, and said no. Instead I said yes, thinking of the awesome thing we experienced. The marriage did not work out.

@@PeterSantenello it's a sweet ruin Peter, 😃😃😄 by virtue of your videos - you see Indian, German, Japanese people commenting together. Truly , bringing people closer together from various countries of this world it's an absolute sweet ruin, haha....Unity at its peak. A great feeling indeed to be surrounded by lovely folks.
      Thanks Peter...

      @@anuragnayak8456Beautifully said!
I love that people from around the world are watching and loving Peter's videos. We learn so much from his travels. I see Peter as much an educator as a journalist doing great things for the global consciousness. People from all over the globe brought together for their love of people, different cultures and the challenges they face in their daily lives. If not for Peter, how else would we ever know about issues the mainstream news does not report.
Thank you Peter for all you do to bring awareness and educate.
Pulitzer Prize worthy content here. 👏👏🤗🤗

Maui is so beautiful and the people deserve so much more than what they’ve got now….I just got back from ten days on the island and the heaviness was palpable. Such a cute man sharing his culture and beliefs and way of life w you and all of us. Thank you again for another video. Mahalo 🤙🏼

I visited Maui in 2019. I was aware of the general history of Hawaii but not to this extent. THIS WAS EYE OPENING.
