- Queen Elizabeth II, the longest lived and longest-reigning monarch in Britain’s history, has died at age 96. She was just 25 years old when her father, King George VI, died and she became head of the monarchy and the figurehead of a commonwealth of 2.4 billion people and over 50 countries.

That speech always makes me cry. She was so dedicated, loyal and hard working. I am a 63 year old American and she has been on the throne my whole life. We learned about her in grade school and I have followed her ever since. She is one of the most important women in History.

It's astonishing to think that kids in the future will learn about this day in the same way did to Ramses, George Washington, Albert Einstein, etc. She has reigned for so long that almost everyone on Earth at this moment has lived a majority if not all of their life under her guidance. Life on Earth tomorrow will be unparalleled to that of yesterday. She will be missed and most certainly not forgotten.

I’m not even from England or any part of Europe but this is honestly quite heartbreaking. She was somebody many looked up to and was a very sweet and amazing woman. She was gorgeous, powerful, and most importantly, was a kind woman. I wish her family the proper healing, may she rest In peace.

R.I.P She was one of the greatest monarchs of our time, lucky to see her face to face in Jubilee held around 10 years ago. I remember her wave and smile to my oldest son who was a child then, while she's passing by her car, followed by the cars of Prince Charles and the rest of the family, and later inside the horse carriage with prince William and Kate with her. A moment I will never forget as long as I live, with the crowds screams and cheers for her.

I thought about this moment this morning. I remember seeing this many times. Her promise to devote her whole life, be it long or short, in service to our great imperial family. And she never wavered from that promise. So much love to her Majesty & her family. That said, it's going to be weird to say King Charles now.
