  • Ramadan has gone by in a flash. How do we maintain the beautiful spirit and lessons of Ramadan throughout the year? Dr. Shabir Ally and Dr. Safiyyah Ally say that Ramadan serves as a training period for engaging in good practices like fasting, which are beneficial not only during Ramadan but should also be continued afterward. Dr. Shabir suggests fasting on specific days recommended in Islamic tradition, such as six days in Shawwal and the white days each month, to extend the benefits of Ramadan. He also highlights the importance of engaging with the Quran consistently, not just during Ramadan, and maintaining a routine of prayers, charity, and other virtuous deeds. Dr. Safiyyah suggests that we should measure our progress in enhancing our spiritual state by how much we've improved between Ramadans.

He prayed: “My Lord! indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me,” So (Allah) forgave him: for He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Quran 28:16) 🤍

Not everyone pigs out at night...and some people have medical conditions such as anemia or even hypoglycemia that makes it harder to fast. Allah knows best.

Dr. Shabbir, dont trim your beard. The Prophet said dont shave or trim your beard for it is my sunnah. Many muslims have a misconception that sunnah of prophet means optional. The prophet designated things what said by him as Sunnah so that the obligatory things from Allah remains designated as (Fard). All sunnah of prophet has an approval from Allah, meaning Allah is happy whoever will follow it. Prophet will never say sth that doesnt benefit humanbeing, never! So as a public figure representing beliefs & practices of Islam why don't you refrain yourself the act of trimming beard. It is clearly seen you are trimming the hanging section most lower hair of beard to shape it. Set an example. Your act falls under the notion modernization of Islam.
