Alaska is talented, but it's all one note, Katya when she's on form is literally genius, truly, the flip side being when she's off, she's really off. Alaska herself said in interview that the producers told her Katya was the intended winner, until her 'I'll pay you $10,000 by papal' meltdown - that was the point they decided to give her the win.

I think the funny factor was due to Alyssa forgetting/not knowing that the catch phrase was "This ain't my first time AT THE RODEO". She just said the first thing that came to her head in classic Alyssa fashion and that's why it was hysterical.
I forgot about S3 Snatch Game Joan, I thought it was Alyssa breaking character and referencing her first time at the snatch game during season 5. It works on 3 levels!

@@cavalier9915 of course she knows the line, but she clearly forgot the rest of it (remember, it's a high pressure environment. you have to be quick and witty to make ru laugh). She said "at the snatch game" because, yes you're right, this isn't her first time, but I don't think she had any intention of being funny with that. That's why she's funny. When Alyssa tries to be funny, she just fails, but when she is herself, she's hilarious. and you know why she forgot? Because otherwise she would've said the complete sentence right away. Alyssa's impersonation was a one-trick pony. She only knew the lines from Mommy Dearest (that's not joan crawford, that's a character) and kept repeating them. It's funny because from the beginning you know she has no knowledge of who Joan Crawford was. But it works. She was hilarious. If she was deliberately trying to be funny, it wouldn't have worked because that's just who Alyssa is and why we love her.
