  • The Versa is Nissan's subcompact sedan. On the outside you will find an updated look with a new front fascia, grill and wheels. On the inside you will be greeted by a 2-tone cloth interior. There is an 8in infotainment screen, digital gauge area, and flat-bottom steering wheel. Under the hood is a 1.6L inline-4 mated to a CVT. Is the 2024 Nissan Versa the BEST new car for under $20k?

    First things first, all of you horsepower junkies clicked the wrong video. This car is the perfect first car/college car. It offers a lot for the price and even checks off a lot of boxes for features that even some $30K+ cars don't have. You are not racing in this car, you are not taking this to the track. This is to get you to point A to point B that has great fuel economy, and that's perfectly fine.

      Don't kid yourselves mate you would only have yourself to laugh at if you think that's really the price they will sell at. This is the classic "technically true** (notice the stars) but also not" business ploy Nissian is running to get customers running in through the doors. So let me let you in (and everyone reading) some obvious problems with that price tags.
      1. Dealership won't order you this car for that price (sorry or not but they will fight you on the lot if it means getting it close to $20k by any means)
      2. The one they are using for this marketing ploy to market as "UnDer 16-17k** OmG come now!!" is a manual (aka take a perfectly good pizza and remove 82% of that and throw straight into the trash) if you catch my reference. Oh I'm sorry you wanted 100% of the pizza? ya than make sure to order the xtra large and ofc xtraa costly SV size baby 😎 it will ONLY cost you 1-2k more 😀.
      3. I can't emphasize this point enough if you think a car company is GOING OUT Of their way to produce and sell you a manual in 2024 of all years out of the kindness of their heart knowing they will loss 87% of the strictly automatic driving market. Once again you're playing yourself. No car brand will knowingly making a manual car in 2024 (except luxury or performance cars) they KNOW close to nobody not a single soul will buy a manual and will instinctively goto the automatic "upgrade" for more cost.
      4. There is barely any supply, you're better off buying a 2022-2024 Hyundai Sonota Hybrid at that point

    I bought a 2021 for my 16 yr old daughter, and tbh I was blown away by the quality of the Versa. I haven't had a small Japanese "beater" type car since the mid-1990s in college and I didn't expect much more than the same I felt when driving a 1995 Corolla or 2000 Lancer. The 20 year difference in comfort, refinement, and features kind of shocked me. The car was slow of course, but it got 44 mpg hwy and was butter smooth, quiet, handled well, heated seats, sound system better than that in $40K cars, ADAS tech, emergency braking, parking sensors, etc. I mean, unless you need to show off, what more does one need from a day-to-day vehicle? The Sentra is a little bigger, a bit better looking for just another $2K. I honestly would dump all my cars except my sports car and buy a Sentra for me and the wife and save $50K from buying all these "entry luxury" cars I've driven for 20 years. These small cars are that good.

    My 2023 is doing me great, a couple of things to note is that the base trim does not come with a key fob nor a center console. Also the versa has a “sport” mode which just keeps the rpms slightly higher to give it a bit of bite when stepping on the gas. I use it to get me to and from work and school constantly driving. $33 to fill up once every 1-1.5 week(s). Keep in mind this is a commuter college students car with that kind of gas mileage. I bought it brand new off the lot in March of 2023

    my car! cept i got the black one, first one to hit N Texas last yr, New Yrs weekend (year ago).. been a great little sedan, and the sound system sounds like a Bose. only gripe is same as your Zonk, no Fog-lights! 2022s had em, then they killed em off for 2023. although the Mexico and Canadian versions DO get fog-lights, makes no sense. they even have fog-lights on the SV version! like wtf.. but overall love it, it's basically a baby Altima. and i only have about 3200 miles on it, since it's just a daily and BTW, it does actually have a Sport-mode, it's on the back the Stick-shift. ☮

    • @AladdinSaneNYC
      @AladdinSaneNYC Před 5 měsíci +1

      Its sound system sounds like a Bose? Really? I'd still have a powered subwoofer installed in the SR version though. Maybe it's overkill audio wise but I like the boom even though I'd keep that boom to myself and not blast it, windows open, to attract attention to myself like some idiot peeps do. 🙏♐

    • @somejackball
      @somejackball Před 5 měsíci

      @@AladdinSaneNYC oh yeah, a aftermarket Sub would help alot. it's still pretty Bassy, you just gotta go into the audio settings. set the bass where u like it. i'm thinking its a Bose, cus my daughter's Rogue SV has Bose, but it just doesn't have the little Bose badges like the Sentra etc. i think Nissan just does that with some top level trims, or with Premium packages like her rogue. anyway, ya its a clean sounding audio system. but you only get it in the SR ☮

    We bought two Nissan Versas for our teenagers, one in 2007 and one in 2008. WE ARE STILL USING THEM IN 2024! Mileage is in the upper 200 thousands. My husband still commutes to work about 100 miles per day in one of them. Very few problems. (One of them is soon to be retired.)
    We liked them because they had more leg and head room than other cars we tried.
    I haven't been in a newer one. Ours are both hatchbacks.
    Excellent value.
    Oh, and I should also mention that in the '70s I bought a Datsun B210 (later Nissan) at the suggestion of a friend who said she had over 230 miles and was running fine. And no rust, a big problem for American cars back then.
    Another thing, one of the Versas is bright red and though parked outside for YEARS has not lost its color! The other is gray and also fine.
    No I dont work for Nissan. Just appreciate great value especially in a car.

    My 2011 Nissan Versa, rolling up on 179k, is my best friend, my ride or die. We’ve been going through this life since August 6, 2010. Have I had “cooler” cars? Sure. Have I ever kept a car this long or this high in miles??? Not even close on either point, and not even a 2nd thought of what car I would buy when LaShae drives her last mile.

    There are so few cars at the 20k price range. This is an excellent value. Even comes with a spare. Nissan has not abandoned their heritage of offering inexpensive cars thankfully. The manual transmission one is clearly the model to get, because CVT's don't last like manual transmissions do.
