- It was a HUGE honour for A2B via Sea to be invited onto the Bridge of Brittany Ferries classic Cruise ferry Bretagne by the officers themselves, to film our arrival into Portsmouth International Port.
Having departed St Malo in France at 1030hrs that day, A2B via Sea / (Instagram: thebearded_blogger) had a wonderful time aboard sampling the excellent facilities aboard; restaurants, bars, lounges, shops, exterior decks....it was truly like a minicruise as we sailed past the islands of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and the northwest coast of France before crossing the English Channel passing the Isle of Wight on our port side and sailing up the Solent for our scheduled arrival of 1830hrs.
Ironically upon berthing we berth next to Brittany Ferries newest vessel Salamanca thereby the newest and oldest ships in the fleet next too each other.
Videos of the interior of Bretagne, a wonderful vessel, will be uploaded in due course. Please subscribe to this channel.

Great Video thznkyou.i was on her last Thursday/ Friday for a round trip and have to say they have looked after her very well while laid up but their are a few xpots around outside decks that could do with some paint. Also what is french law for smoking in workplaces as when leaving Portsmouth you could see what looked like Captain and his bridge mate smoking while backing out of Portsmouth which did not look good in view of passengers.maybe why bridge door is open!!!!!
Is the capt Olivier Rimbeaux ?
Great video, thank you! I’m interested to know, do the the cross-channel ferries need to have a Pilot to enter/exit the various ports or do the crews have with knowledge after working such familiar routes? Thanks
Hi. Thanks for watching! My understanding is that the vessels Masters have a pilot exception certificate therefore no pilot is required. More videos of this beautiful ferry can be found in the Brittany Ferries playlist of my channel. Enjoy! Dont forget to subscribe 😉
Fantastic video more of this type please are you French as it must be difficult to get an invite on the bridge
Hello. Thanks for watching! No, I was recognised by the Bridge officers from my social media posts, CZcams videos & website (www.a2bviasea.co.uk) and was invited onto the Bridge to obtain footage for my CZcams channel
She may be the oldest girl in the fleet but IMHO the best - never had a bad crossing on her, always got there on time and safe. It'll be a sad day when they retire her in favour of these e-flexers
Hi. Thanks for watching my footage! There is a real time walk about tour of Bretagne on my #brittanyferries playlist. Enjoy, and please subscribe 🙏 😉
I think that normandie is my favourite
02:12 - do you know what naval ship is on the port bow? - nice Video by the way...
Hi. Thanks for watching! Regrettably not, sorry.
Hello, I know it's been a while since you asked but seeing as you never got an answer, that's HMS Bristol (D23) only ship of her type ever built and a Falklands war veteran. She's decommissioned and permanently moored there.
@@EatQuiche thank you for your answer.
Would be good of the officers werent muzzled
Hi. Thanks for watching! It is French law to wear masks indoors, even in UK waters, as it is a French vessel
@@A2BviaSeaonTV What nonsense
@@nikf3188 read the conditions of carriage and listen to the announcements aboard. No mask u must remain in your cabin.
@@A2BviaSeaonTV I would be taking no notice of that load of rubbish
why still the masks???
Corona isnt gone!
Hi. Thanks for watching! It is law in France, including French vessels, to wear a face mask.
cause there being sensible
Some of us prefer to be cautious.
@@A2BviaSeaonTV Oh, I see... - I still won't be using one...
Good to see that Britain's two colossally expensive aircraft carriers are earning their keep tied up at Portsmouth; that'll scare the life out of Putin 😑
HMS prince of wales has just returned from exercises off the norwegian coast. If we are to scare putin .. it’s the boats below the waves that will scare him not the carriers!
idiot comment uk scared the russians of by air force in nort sea
