South West Model Railway Exhibition 2024 - 28/04/2024

- 28th April 2024 saw the RMweb South West Area Group (SWAG) host their annual members day held at Staplegrove Village Hall, Taunton, Somerset.
The show featured no less than 10 visiting layouts and dioramas in a variety of gauges and scales, as well as the famous 'bring & buy' stand, plus a good selection of other traders and demonstration stands .

Great bit of film, showing from track level. Some modellers even put passengers in carriages and drivers in cabs (i am a retired BRtrain driver), so tend to notice when somebody has been bothered to go for realism, as opposed to slap dash mediocre attempts. Also a proper display of coupling up, in that driver draws forward, stops about 6 foot away, then draws forward, then ease up couplings, then pull away test, then shunter or guard goes "In between", links up electrics and air pipes. To not stop,but to just run into the stock is considered a COLLISION and shows no skill at all. Would be nice to see more crews in cabs though.
