Hey man, great race! When you do chest mount put your gopro in 1440 instead of 1080. You will get a taller shot which will be better and more immersive for us viewers.

Nice race but what a bummer with the AMA and no helmet cams, this chest mount stuff is meh.......
It really depends on how you set it up. I will have a video in a few days with my chest mount, could be a little more stable but the angle is good.

IDEA FOR YOU... can you do a break down of expenses to race at a gncc race. I'm curious about if we need a license, entry fees pre race, hidden costs, is there any special pre planning to make sure your allowed to race when you get there? Who picks your number?
You know... all the boring stuff we never get covered.
Being from CANADA 🇨🇦 our race cost might be really different
Ive never done a gncc but our harescrambles in the local series just needs an AMA competition card and you do all your sign up stuff and they give us our transponders which for us are little sticker things we put on our helmets and then they can give you a temporary number for the race if you dont have one already
For gncc it’s 25 dollars to get Into the event. The race fee is 50 dollars. You can rent or buy their transponder for 90 dollars...if you rent it they give you 80 dollars back when you turn it back in. As far as numbers go, they give you helmet sticker numbers for the race that match your transponder.
Well done, bike sounded good. 33rd out of 442 overall, darn good first XC3 race.

Man my line choice has to be better too. I felt good about 3rd place this weekend, until I saw the results. I lost by 4 minutes in a 90 minute race. Didn't really make any mistakes, and my fastest lap was my last lap so the fitness is okay. Has to be line selection!
It was tough out there! I think it will be one of the more difficult ones this year though

On the subject of line choice, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Try to straighten out the course as best you can. I saw a vid where I think it was Kailub Russell that mentioned something about this. And we know he can pick lines!

I really appreciate you doing these video, but this camera position just makes it unwatchable. I wonder if they will make some sort of shoulder mount? Maybe there will be helmets with build in cameras in the future? It is so sad the AMA made that stupid rule.

Set the angle of the gopro for when your standing.. lol it’s ok when your sitting down. But that’s few n far between

Try to stand as much as possible and Weight the outside peg with pressure on your outside or low side of off camber and try to maintain your bike upright with very little lean angle. Sound like its opposite of what should work but it give your h8ke more bite and keeps you from sliding out
Thank ya man! Yes standing up and putting a lot of your weight on the outside peg. What this does is almost push your tires into the hill instead of down the hill

I for sure like them. Helps with harsh hits and vibration a bit too

Really like them, help with sharp hits and a bit of vibration. It is 440 main and 40 pilot
