There are times like this that prove that Rick is actively looking for things to ruin for its own sake and says it's everyone else's fault when it understandably backfires. Rick could have just put up his own shelf, but instead he tries to have Morty do it and then shames him for not doing it the over-the-top sci fi way. You can't even say that it was out of laziness, considering he wasted an afternoon (or longer) using his technology and skills in mathematics to create an objectively perfect level that breaks the fragile human psyche to experience just to prove Morty's ineptitude. Remind me why people like Rick so much?
Optimistic (And most likely correct) answer: He's a funny, compelling, and entertaining character. Cynical answer: He's a reflection of the show's target audience. The people most obsessed with him are cynical, miserable, nihilistic, narcissistic jerks who genuenly think they're smarter and better than everyone. Rick is just as cynical as the target audience, and he's also as smart as the target audience THINK they are. The meta-purpose of Rick's character is just a circle jerk for rampant narcissism.
Nice touch to have the lines of the true level square perfectly straight, while the rest of the line work for the shelves, walls, and machinery behind them is drawn a little more roughly and crookedly.
Morty's Mind Blowers is basically an endless string of call backs to stuff we never saw and they made up. They reverse engineered callbacks, LA DI DAH. 0:11 what I think Rick was gonna say since Morty said to leave it for CZcams.
Rick at the beginning is how I feel working with my dad on AV installs after training as a machinist and keeping tolerances within 0.003” and 0.1 degrees while he uses a measuring tape and a bubble, what works works, just seems like it shouldn’t now that I know better lmao
He was mad about the measuring instrument, not the tool used to achieve level. Exact quote: "I also dabble in _precision_ and if you think you can even approach it with your sad naked caveman eyeball and a bubble of fucking air..." he's clearly saying in order to achieve true level you need to be able to _see_ true level, hence the goggles and grid.
@@creativecredence850 so it’s the goggles he’s wearing and the laser grid then that are the tools for True Level. The grid scans for imperfections that can’t be detected by the human eye, and the goggles report that to Rick.

This reminds me of the King of the Hill episode where Hank discovers this high quality local grocery store. When they try the food peggy says something like "if this is food, what have we been eating this whole time?" Then at the end when the store is bought out by the mega corporation and is replaced by the same generic stuff they just eat quietly in sadness
This one scene is really implying that reality is so imperfect, if it were actually perfect, it would drive us insane…. Interesting. Wonder if that’s why cosmic horrors drive human beings insane and than instant death.
These surfaces do exist and they’re called inspection tables. They’re basically perfectly level and flat granite tables used for precision measuring. We’re talking flat within a few ten-thousandths of an inch (depending on grade) and can be leveled (with a bubble but a very fancy one at that) to the same degree. I have yet to stand on one though 🤔
The craziest thing to me is that Rick already knows what it's like to experience true level, and yet still managed to go on living with normal reality. He spared Morty the pain of remembering the experience of being ripped out of true perfection- but Rick has the strength to live with it. He remembers it and carries it with him. He was not spared... Keep in mind, Rick likely discovered true level on his own, and thus had no one to gift him the ability to forget it. He also probably didn't have anyone to comfort him the way he did Morty. He had to go work that horrible progression all on his own...

I'm pretty sure you mean "As a man"
@@Goober651 he is many men, he can sense both pleasure and disturbances in many different realities at the same time
@@josuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu1780 He has ascended
Chill guys, he's a hivemind :V
This cosmic plane can no longer hold our hidden God from his slumber
The fact that rick can make a shoes with true level adjustment but he prefers cut grandson memory XD
I wish that sequence was a lot longer. Show me exquisite craftsmanship as a process. Then let Morty lie on it for a month and decide to either stay level or let it go and join the cosmic slaughter.
“Sad naked caveman eyeball”😹😂🤣
I don't care what what field, hobby or trade you are in. If you work with your hands you will find this video deeply satisfying, hell I'm a electrician that converted to a service technician
The way he act like he doesn't care is priceless 😂😂😂
“Lambs for the cosmic slaughter” humanity in a nutshell.
"everything's crooked, reality is poison" is gonna become my catch phrase when I don't like something
"Lambs to the cosmic slaughter!!!"
So what he experienced was basically a flawless, perfectly balanced surface. Which is something i presume no human has ever known.
Bingo
All false
Best line of the show: "Lambs to the cosmic slaughter!"
So hilarious how rick just outsmarts everyone all the time, even if they think they could never be outsmarted
I don't think he's drunk in this, just in a bad mood
Nice touch to have the lines of the true level square perfectly straight, while the rest of the line work for the shelves, walls, and machinery behind them is drawn a little more roughly and crookedly.
but why won't Morty goes insane again after retrieve the memory of perfect leveled
Maybe because he is seen it, not living it.
The thin line between memory and information
The same reason why remebering yourself eating a burguer and doing it real time arent the same
@@ventu2295 i understand your argument and agree, also i want a burger now
@@Stray0 Just remember yourself eating one lol
So...does this mean Rick knows what it is to be off of true level and still lives with that feeling?
"Everythings crooked, reality is poison!" This how I felt last week on shrooms. XD
I remember having a shroom experience that everything was way too geometric and neat
"Lambs to the cosmic slaughter" is my new favorite thing. 👍
Morty's Mind Blowers is basically an endless string of call backs to stuff we never saw and they made up. They reverse engineered callbacks, LA DI DAH.
0:11 what I think Rick was gonna say since Morty said to leave it for CZcams.
Family Guy invented that.
@@MrDvfdsv no they didn't. They just abused the crap out of it.
Rick at the beginning is how I feel working with my dad on AV installs after training as a machinist and keeping tolerances within 0.003” and 0.1 degrees while he uses a measuring tape and a bubble, what works works, just seems like it shouldn’t now that I know better lmao
I love how summer is seriously worried for a second, and then she stops to keep the snark schtick
Of course there are trading cards why wouldn't there be
Im not *even* going to ask
Pissed at Morty for using a spirit level cos it’s too primitive, proceeds to use sandpaper and a hammer to create “true level”
I think he's just getting it "close" and that weird field thing does the rest of the work.
Morty: EVERYTHING IS CROCKED! REALITY IS POISON!
Reminds me of something Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls would say

1:14 That was my reaction when the weekends where over and I had to go to school again...I honestly miss that times :(
Idk why but any variant of "lambs to the slaughter" makes me laugh. It is just so god damn funny.
This is probably one of the best executed jokes in the entirety of the show😂
First clip I've ever seen of this show and it is pure genius. I gotta watch this show!
As a CNC machinist I relate to rick way to much in this...
Imagine having shoes with the insides being perfectly level, along with perfectly level floors in your home. You could experience the ecstasy of true level all the time.
This might be one of the funniest fucking bits they’ve ever done
My parents walked in at 1:08 and walked right back out.
Lmao
lul
OH NO-
Rick: Has Morty bull a shelf for him
Also Rick: spends hours making True Level to show you Morty up instead of Building a shelf himself
Rick Sanchez, the grandpa we wish we had
I love how at first Morty is about to sarcastically pretend how amazing it is before he starts genuinely moaning orgasmically.
1:07
Morty failed no nut November
Funny
He didnt
This reminds me of the King of the Hill episode where Hank discovers this high quality local grocery store. When they try the food peggy says something like "if this is food, what have we been eating this whole time?" Then at the end when the store is bought out by the mega corporation and is replaced by the same generic stuff they just eat quietly in sadness
The funny thing is that a lot of these bits are based in actual science which makes it even better
I think the joke woulda been funnier if rick went through all the set up just for morty to not notice anything special about the spot.
@@travismaguire1349 I'm a machinist and have used one back in school. I haven't been the same since then...
“Lambs to the cosmic slaughter” gets me every time.
I love how for just a second morty is being sarcastic like oh WoOow. And then really just fricking loves it.
Rick pulled a Flowers for Algernon on Morty and it’s hilarious
All that effort and they didn’t even end up putting up the shelf.
When I first watched this episode I thought it was an emotional level
But no it really is just the fucking floor
The craziest thing to me is that Rick already knows what it's like to experience true level, and yet still managed to go on living with normal reality. He spared Morty the pain of remembering the experience of being ripped out of true perfection- but Rick has the strength to live with it. He remembers it and carries it with him. He was not spared... Keep in mind, Rick likely discovered true level on his own, and thus had no one to gift him the ability to forget it. He also probably didn't have anyone to comfort him the way he did Morty. He had to go work that horrible progression all on his own...
Or rick too had his memory wiped, but knows why it was wiped?
@@turbo8628I think the original comment is more likely to be correct. Remember the cat episode, where Jerry and Rick saw something so horrible, but Rick elected to remember it? It seems like Rick would generally decide to remember harmful things
@@Kali-bs7oj idk, in this episode rick also has his own memories that he wiped
@@turbo8628 I don’t remember that, when was it?
@@Kali-bs7oj in the episode where they start going through deleted memories. Not really watched that much rick and morty tbh. Maybe i am getting confused and it was morty's memories that were deleted cos they were embarassing for rick.
Also my reaction to trying out a Weighted Blanket for the first time
Didn't know I'd been missing it all my life bro
Rick: Smartest man in the universe.
Also Rick: Confuses "precision" with "accuracy."
He didn't confuse it.
Using a level with a bubble and eyeballing it is not a precise measurement. It is accurate, but not precise.
I recently went on a camping trip where the entire campsite was on a slight slope and just slightly off level and I was constantly annoyed at always feeling like I was about to fall over. I feel your pain morty
The add was perfect….. fit in so well with the start of this clip xD
I LOL at the "lambs to the cosmic slaughter" everytime I watch this.
I have to wonder, what is it like to experience true level?
Maybe it's better this way. Not knowing.
