    This is the best Fairlight video out there. Whether Ferris or DaVinci instructors, they have never explained it in the way you just did. I learned more off your one video than all the others I have listened to so far. Great job. Because of that, I have subscribed to your channel.

    Hello Marcel, I wasn't 100% sure about making the switch to Davinci from Adobe until I watched your tutorial. Editing in Fairlight was my main concern. Your tutorial has eased my concerns so I am making the switch. I am looking forward to checking your other tutorials as well as the video you mentioned in this video. I have subscribed and liked this video. Thanks for sharing.

      Welcome to the party Taede 🎉 once upon a time I made the switch from Adobe as well and I have been more than happy every since. I still use Photoshop & Lightroom when I need to but that's it. Resolve continues to amaze me all the time.
      Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind words. You are appreciated my friend 👊✌️

    Bro this is exactly what I've been looking for. When you normalize audio to 14 LUFS you don't have to worry about clipping?

    • @TheModernFilmmaker
      @TheModernFilmmaker  Před 2 lety

      I like to use 14 and if you have multiple clips you will want to check the "Independent" option. 👊✌

    You should really try the dialogue isolate feature in Izotope RX9, think it would work wonders in this scenario..Thanks for a great video, you got a new subscriber :)

    I recorded a show with Tascam. A show with singers and musicians. I connected through the soundman. What is the volume limit in editing. Minus 3 dB, minus 6 dB. Or another?
    Thanks

    great video! i just subscribed. I was wondering though, if you'd be willing to go into a little more detail about that side-chaining you do? Are you doing that to simply duck the volume when the vocals begin, or is the music track actually being compressed along with the vocal track? im a little unclear about how that works?

    • @TheModernFilmmaker
      @TheModernFilmmaker  Před rokem +1

      Thank you!!! Yes, I just use the sidechain to duck the audio of the music. Very useful technique, even with sound effects and sound design. You can sidechain the everything to the vocals to make sure your vocals stand out. Thanks again for the comment! 👊✌️

  • @eraheem
    @eraheem Před 2 lety +1

    Silly question-- do we have to do it at every clip or doing it at the beginning will apply to entire track? Thanks for the great tutorial.

    • @TheModernFilmmaker
      @TheModernFilmmaker  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes! When you use the Track EQ it will effect everything on that track. 👍👊

    • @TheModernFilmmaker

      @@TheModernFilmmaker thanks for the reply... which headphone do you use for such audio editing?

  • @darkechoproductionsllc9559

    Be careful with that clipping, voice should be at -20 to -12 and your master bus should be hitting -10. That would never pass for broadcast standards. And look into iztope rx9. Good luck

    • @TheModernFilmmaker
      @TheModernFilmmaker  Před 2 lety +1

      Big fan of RX! And yes you are right, one must consider levels for desired platform 👍 thanks for the comment 👊✌
