You’re a jeweller, sir! Very important advice you gave about sequence of EQ, Noise Reduction and Dynamics finally. I’ve completely forgot about it. Thank you!
So this is the master bathroom that we recently completed, the objective here was...
🤣 I figured the repetition might drive some people crazy 🤣
I like it :) I know how much time it takes to prep a tutorial - big thanks for time and sharing you knowledge :)
Thank you!! I really appreciate the kind words 🙏👊✌️
This is the best Fairlight video out there. Whether Ferris or DaVinci instructors, they have never explained it in the way you just did. I learned more off your one video than all the others I have listened to so far. Great job. Because of that, I have subscribed to your channel.
Thank you Dr. Foreman 🙌 I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such kind words. 👊✌️
Wow...I discovered your channel thanks to Resolve con. Thanks so much for this video. I have struggled so much with understanding audio but I am beginning to see the power of EQ, Effects and Dynamics. You explain it so well. Thank you so much for this video. Keep making informative content like these.
Happy to help! Thanks for the comment my new friend! 👊✌️
Been watching your videos for a couple of years now. They're always so informative and very well done. I want to thank you for the time and effort I know it takes to make them, and for sharing your skills. Keep 'em coming. 👍
Wow thank you G Watson! It really means a lot that you would take the time to leave such encouraging words 🙏👊✌
Hello Marcel, I wasn't 100% sure about making the switch to Davinci from Adobe until I watched your tutorial. Editing in Fairlight was my main concern. Your tutorial has eased my concerns so I am making the switch. I am looking forward to checking your other tutorials as well as the video you mentioned in this video. I have subscribed and liked this video. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome to the party Taede 🎉 once upon a time I made the switch from Adobe as well and I have been more than happy every since. I still use Photoshop & Lightroom when I need to but that's it. Resolve continues to amaze me all the time.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind words. You are appreciated my friend 👊✌️
Good stuff.
Highly focused and easy to follow; on point.
Thank you Robert! I really appreciate the kind words my friend 👊✌️

Good Morrin my brother i need to do more work in fairlight Thanks
Fairlight is that extra icing on the cake. Everyone loves extra icing 🎂
Hi Marcel! New subscriber + Fairlight noob here 🙋🏻♀what is happening when you widen the Q factor curve? Thanks for these awesome videos!
This video deserves more views. Keep up the good work bro
Thank you Melchior!! 👊✌
Hey bro can you please explain this “sidechain” concept and when and how to use it? Is it the same as a bus? You have mad skills! Much respect! Maybe do a video? 😬
Hi David! I actually just did a video on compression and side chaining. czcams.com/video/LAZ-bkK-AGw/video.html
Thanks for the comment 👊✌️
Bro this sooo informative
Could you provide the like of this master piece video to see this in full length
I made a series of videos for all the employees at JL Design. You can check them out @ jldesignnashville.com/our-team/

@@TheModernFilmmaker Dude these are are awesome
You have some amazing EQ skills right there!
And audio manipulation skills in general too 😂
Thank you Rodrigo!! I appreciate you brother 👊✌
THANKS
You're welcome 👊✌
Bro this is exactly what I've been looking for. When you normalize audio to 14 LUFS you don't have to worry about clipping?
I like to use 14 and if you have multiple clips you will want to check the "Independent" option. 👊✌
You should really try the dialogue isolate feature in Izotope RX9, think it would work wonders in this scenario..Thanks for a great video, you got a new subscriber :)
Thank you Anders!! I have RX8 but I need to make the upgrade to RX9. I have been hearing great things. Thank you for the sub my friend 👊✌
I recorded a show with Tascam. A show with singers and musicians. I connected through the soundman. What is the volume limit in editing. Minus 3 dB, minus 6 dB. Or another?
Thanks
great video! i just subscribed. I was wondering though, if you'd be willing to go into a little more detail about that side-chaining you do? Are you doing that to simply duck the volume when the vocals begin, or is the music track actually being compressed along with the vocal track? im a little unclear about how that works?
Thank you!!! Yes, I just use the sidechain to duck the audio of the music. Very useful technique, even with sound effects and sound design. You can sidechain the everything to the vocals to make sure your vocals stand out. Thanks again for the comment! 👊✌️
Silly question-- do we have to do it at every clip or doing it at the beginning will apply to entire track? Thanks for the great tutorial.
Yes! When you use the Track EQ it will effect everything on that track. 👍👊
for headshot talks like this video, do you feel fairlight is sufficient or DAW will give better output?
Fairlight is perfect in my opinion. Gives you almost all the same capabilities as a full DAW. Thanks for the comment 👊✌️
@@TheModernFilmmaker thanks for the reply... which headphone do you use for such audio editing?
Be careful with that clipping, voice should be at -20 to -12 and your master bus should be hitting -10. That would never pass for broadcast standards. And look into iztope rx9. Good luck
Big fan of RX! And yes you are right, one must consider levels for desired platform 👍 thanks for the comment 👊✌
