I previously showed you an easy way to mount cameras without drilling into your home. You can find that video using this link:
This particular area didn't have anywhere to use the other mounting method so I did need to install this camera in the brick. In this video I show the proper way to install the mount and camera.

Excellent for older people! Short & to the point. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great job! Super helpful!
What a great explanation, thanks for this!
Thanks! I’m glad you found it helpful.
Great job on the installation!! I appreciate the tips!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome…thanks!
Thanks, this was very helpful!
My pleasure. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Great video Bud! Thanks
You’re welcome!
Attaching the doorbell to the mount is a little difficult but once it locks into place it seems extremely sturdy. czcams.com/users/postUgkxxHZwMa8CsRjYhf9s4W8w0Dwm47uytWOp I replaced my regular doorbell with this and hard wired it in, using my existing wires and mechanical chime. It works perfect so far and integrates perfectly with my blink camera system. It also works seamlessly with Alexa
Nice video...very precise
Thank you! I appreciate it.
Great video thanks.
My pleasure.
Thanks
Thanks, it is super helpful. Can you point to any video of hooking a power to the camera from inside home
You would need to drill through your brick and run the wire to an exterior rated box. I have only hooked mine up to an existing wire from a previous light. I don’t have any videos showing anything else.
Great video. I am trying to install this to my backyard on the siding but the thickness of siding is less than the lengthy of anchors and screws that came in with the ring spot light battery can. What to do?
You may have to buy shorter screws and anchors.
Hello, thank you for the video. Super helpful. My question is, how do you know you are drilling in the hollow part of your brick?
It really doesn’t matter if you are or not. The anchor will work in the solid part too.
@@TightWadDIY thank you!
I always use the screw driver also and get a 12 Oz rubber mallet
For which part?
How long should the drilling through brick generally take? I have a 1200w hammer drill with the proper masonry drill bits (and all the correct hammer settings & speeds etc), but the bricks in my home still take 15-20 mins to drill 1.5 inch deep per hole.
It should take just a few seconds.
@@TightWadDIY what size drill bit
Make sure you are using a carbide bit and see if that helps.
@@michaeljackson62509 Great tip! I didn’t even consider he may be trying to use a normal bit. A carbide tipped masonry bit should rip right through it.
I have a carbide bit and the bit the camera came with but a standard drill and after minutes of drilling barely scraping the surface.
I’ve been reluctant to do this project fearing the holes (even if pre marked) won’t line up perfectly because my bricks are not smooth bricks.
Can you mount the camera in your roof overhang instead?
I’m installing a ring stick em up camera, can you tell me what size screw bit I would need. Ring just says t15 but I can’t figure that out I’m in the uk
Sorry I’m not really sure and I no longer have the Ring cameras.
I got the house insulated with rendered wall... will it hold or do I have to drill deeper than usual until I hit the brick wall?
I’m not sure what rendered well is.
Great video my friend,,, I’m going In myself- called two companies to install - they sound STUPID a 1,000.00 for four cameras 🎥!!! I’m like all your doing is drilling into the house a couple screws & setting Dvr……. 🤷🏾♂️
😂😂 That’s crazy but you are paying them for their time to drive there and set up too.
what drill is that i have a black n decker one still can’t get a hole in this type of wall do need switch the screw on the drill think using wrong one gir a walk like make holes in wall and wood on my windows pane
This is a Ridgid brand drill with a “hammer drill” setting. A regular drill will not work well in masonry.
@@TightWadDIY even i look correct nail attach to my black n decker drill
@@TightWadDIY nice work! Would a regular drill with a masonry bit work on stucco? Sorry for coming to your video, but this is the best video I’ve seen on installing on masonry and I’m trying to figure out what I need to secure a google nest cam to an exterior stucco wall.
@@cilonen I’ve never drilled into Stuco. I think it would work though. I don’t think Stucco is very thick.
What size drill bit did you use for this?
Sorry I don’t remember. Just make sure the size matches the anchor and you’re good.
Is that a 1/4 bit?
Sorry, I don’t recall the size of the bid. It came with the camera though.
Hi, I’m new to this so I don’t understand. How do you know you’re not drilling into your home?
bricks a very generally a certain width.
In most cases you wouldn't be drilling further in than the brick is wide
Damn your Fine AF‼️🥵
What size bit?
Do I need a hammer drill to make a hole in brick ?
It’s ideal, but not required.
What size is the drill bit? My camera came without it.
Mine was a 3/16
Masonry bit was too loose in my opinion to adhere to the brick after I drilled it in. I stopped, thinking that some construction glue or some type of sealant is needed to properly secure these screws. Any ideas or tips? I don’t want the camera to fall off the wall.
You should be using anchors.
Hard brick needs a hammer drill AND a better bit. I used the 1/4 inch and carefully threaded the tiny screws through the base, into the anchors before sinking the anchors into the wall. To lazy to go buy a special 15/64 impact drill bit…
A better but is helpful but that one should get it done.
So a 1/4 inch bit would work?
So what about drilling thru thin metal then the brick?.
Dis thang sho do cos a lot
It’s right in line with other wireless security camera. This one also had a built in solar panel which isn’t common. It’s a great deal.
How about telling us what diameter to drill?
Fr
Haha my first question
What size is the masonry bit? My stick up can did not come with a masonry bit.
What Size Drill Bit Do I Need? To mount your Ring Doorbell to the wall, you will need a 15/64 drill bit (although you could also use a 7/32 drill bit). Additionally, you will need a T6 and T15 screwdriver head.
you gotta read books men
Not sure what you mean.
