  • Want to learn Wing Chun? Sifu Guerman demonstrates the second form, Chum Kiu or "Seeking Bridges" at a slow follow along pace along with narration by Sifu Eric and captions for the movements. Learn More:
    Follow along Siu Nim Tau: • Follow Along Siu Nim T...
    Learn the terminology: • Wing Tsun Basic Hand T...
    Music: Aurora B. Polaris by Natsukashii
    Chum Kiu is the second form in the Leung Ting Wing Tsun System. Chum Kiu means "Seeking Bridges" and combines hand movements with leg movements while isolating the posture.
    Often, people want to skip this form and go straight to Biu Tze or Wooden Dummy, but without the concepts and training in Siu Nim Tau and Chum Kiu, the student can form a misconception of the higher level forms or worse, hurt themselves.

    Great form and execution. Powerfull and decontracted in the same time as it shall be. Compare to other video where people do it to fast or to slow with no straight line, bended knees on kick, and no power in their form, your video is the best that i found on CZcams. And do it in miror with all the explanation and the names of the mouvements is a great help to memorize it. Thank you sifu.

    Very clean execution of LTWT as practiced in America, the way we used to do it in the '80s. This is how it is taught to intermediate students. Personally, at higher levels, I like to see more flow as one technique flows into the next creating more "synergy". Still, I will probably recommend this video to students learning this form.

      Thank you! This is meant to be a follow along video so student’s can clearly see the movements. When actually doing the form we are also looking for coordination, balance, and precision in the execution of the movements.

    Seeing this I wouldn't consider Leung Ting a 'good' disciple of Ip Man; many techniques don't even consider the "center line'

      @wingchun-simplekungfu7584 Před 2 měsíci +1

      He wasn’t a good student at all. After Ip passed he just cashed in. It’s difficult to imagine Ip Man actually taught him due to how old he was. Usually a new student would be taught by another more senior student. Not by the master.

      Own videos? Why should I post own videos if my Sifu and Sigung perform it the way it should be instead of someone of their students?
      This is an 'old' video of my Sigung performing CK 1 & 2: czcams.com/video/IRATN-uhHh0/video.html
      WingChun is highly about efficiency; the less movement and the shorter the distance, the better and DEFINITELY guarding the 'centerline' which is KEY CONCEPT in WingChun.

    Correct Kung Fu must be taught thoroughly and properly. Most of the movements demonstrated in this video are not being demonstrated correctly. It appears to be copied rather than learnt. Totally ineffective.

    Great form and masterful execution
    What I find interesting is the second section has the elbow and side kick that there WC don't seem to have

    As a Grandmaster in Wing Tsun situated in Chicago, I really find myself wondering about the legitimacy here due to the absence of the Dim Sau, double Queng Pau, Quan Sun Lau, Lim Hong Sau and lastly double-finger choke to the nostril area techniques. This is almost as bad as Wong Shun Leung's technique. Almost...
